Appreciate your ending. The criminal justice system works best when criminals can be deterred by the penalties. I'd liken the Red John situation closer to war or maybe to hunting a rabid dog. Nothing short of death will stop him. When the person is 100% known to be Red John, I don't have a moral problem with outright killing him (without a penalty for Jane or Lisbon). ...Then again, Jane thought he was 100% certain with Timothy Carter. Complicated world we live in, no?

Oh God, this is so perfect. I don't know whether I can see it happen (not exactly, but like this), but I certainly would want to see it. Jane kills RJ, Lisbon covers the murder, as she is the only one who was there when it happened, and no one else will ever know about it.

It's a huge mystery - the whole concept of what Jane would/will do to Red John. I don't like to think he'd end up in jail though - so kudos to you for a great plot!
