Thoroughly enjoyed this, particularly all of Castiel's increasingly "human" tells. (I mean his mannerisms/expressions of feeling, not evidence of lost mojo.)

I think I dig the vagueness of the night demon. My brain fills in some of the hideous form without tripping over descriptions. And I imagine our boys only got a good look at its talons during the tussle. So props for realism. ;P

And, I like the all-for-one vibe that includes Sam, so Dean and Cas' brotherhood comes to the fore. (I'm personally not a fan of Destiel UST.)

This was very good. I've read a slew of the "Cas is hurt while losing his 'mojo'" plotlines and I believe this to be one of the best I've found yet. Yes, I may have skipped over some of it to get to the more "interesting" parts, but those are the parts that make this stand out.

The need you created to keep running, the constant need to flee with only scant minutes to deal with the injury in between being forced to expend more energy to keep them safe...that was clever. I give kudos.

I love the imagery in your story-telling and the trueness of the original characters and the way in which they were written. I know I'm reading these a long time after you wrote them, but thanks. They're still giving pleasure

Wow...just, WOW!

This was such an original concept and so well structured it was an absolute delight to read.

To me, canon has become a grim place where the characters I loved have lost their shiny. Character growth, my ass! You have given back what was taken from them.

I couldn't love your Dean more and you've brought a depth to Castiel I didn't even know I wanted. Then there's Sam, whom you've made knowable and, for me, so much easier to like.
