Don't know why I bother outlining chapters. The guys never do what I want anyways.

They never do! It's worse when you have the fic nearly finished when it comes to light that you forgot an important sequence. Trying to fit that in without the Boys blazing a whole different trail is nigh on impossible.

Still, I've found it's better for the writer to adjust to the characters' whims then to try and make them fit a premade box. Frustrating but better.

Mary Travis is a kind woman. A highly opinionated kind person can do quite a lot of damage and not know the repercussions. Poor Ez, being on the end of her current campaign has gotta be rough.

I wonder if she'll ever realize that her opinion isn't the only one worth having.

Oh yeah, this is going to be one fascinating and lively story. Can't wait. Another great job. Keep em coming...

Very interesting. I like Vin taking Ezra's gun to "clean it". With Maude, when she says she lost someone in the war, she could mean he perished in battle. Or knowing Maude, she could literally mean she misplaced the lad and hasn't seen him since.

You've definitely got me looking forward to the next chapter.

Wonderful to see more of this fic! Love Buck crooning to Ezra to get him to calm down and Vin handled the gun situation very well. Nathan has a brusk bedside manner by default and will adjust his approach when he is reminded. Love that Chris took care of the bushwackers but the mystery of the attack remains. So sorry to hear about Ezra's horse; he did make sure Grace was safe first. Nice to have a warning about that. Love that Josiah doesn't like Dalton but not sure why. Maude is bringing all sorts of complications to town and looks like there is some very interesting back story about to be revealed. Trust Ezra to wake up at the most interesting time! Thanks for this part and please keep going!

Wow! Very exciting chapter! This is a big change in plans for everyone. Nice teasing by Chris and Josiah with Buck and JD; that changed so fast when Chaucer arrived. Very brave but very scared horse who did his best to protect Grace. Great solution to calm him down and rescue the baby. Love Inez's concern here, too. Nice how Dalton is trying to save Ezra; they do have so much to talk about yet. Good thing rescue is on the way! I'm looking forward to the next part; this is a very good cliffhanger.

Interesting chapter, hope the guys get there soon! Hmm wonder how Ezra is going to react to having a father...and wondering whom the other son will be...look forward to the next chapter

Grandpa, huh? Chapter 6 should be interesting. I liked Ezra's dismay re Chris & Mary getting engaged. Ezra/Mary stories are too rare. Nice to seem him wanting her, even if he couldn't get her.
