Incredible. Beautiful use of imagery, but the transition between dream and reality was slightly tricky to follow. Perhaps you could carry the colour theme further to make the distinction clearer- ie the black and white/greyscale world verses the full colour. That said, it made perfect sense on the re-read.

One other question- did Neal fall asleep due to a concussion? You said 'his head throbs violently and his stomach clenches but he doesn't let it show'.

Love this - good take on what Peter means to Neal in the wider sense, and not just as a friend. And some serious Peter-whump to boot. I have a real thing for this 'gentle, loving, smart fierce man!'

How could I have missed this one? Wonderful use of imagery from first paragraph to last without ever letting it detract from the momentum. Terrific use of time, the arrangement and order of scenes to maximize their impact. And Neal's habit of analyzing other characters (clearly what would give him an edge in the con game)is shown so effectively. Too many good things about this to mention them all.

How on earth does this not have more reviews? It was well told, brillitantly executed and given a spontaneous but well appreciated twist at the end. Where are the rest of you people? Come out come out, you've gotte see this!

Wow. That was excellent. Especially the part of what prison would be like for Caffrey, if they'd send him back.

This is my sad face, damn it! It was beautiful but so sad.

Brilliant and frightening. Neal's nightmares were horrible and it was a relief to arrive at the end with Peter hurt but not as terribly in the first scenario. Bonus points for showing that Neal would be in terrible danger now if he went back to prison.

It was good - but at times it was a little hard to follow. I liked it though.
