Reviews for The Meaning of the Word
SweetieLove chapter 1 . 6/8/2010
Too..unbearable...it was really dark...AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! The ending was great and the flashbacks just tied things down. The intro was really intriguing but when it got deeper and deeper and deeper..GAH!

I loved your writing style: direct. It comes really straightforward with good flow and less details...

Happy~
Roselle Lynn chapter 1 . 4/14/2010
I know that I took a long time in reviewing this one-shot.

OMGoodness, this was deep without being unbearably deep. There was a lot of emotion without saying so much. And I love how you talked about both Ann and Stu's experiences with the Goddess Pond.

I don't think I ever would have thought of the Goddess Pond like you did but it does make sense the way you describe it. You do have to give a sacrifice or gift in order to be heard by the Goddess.

This was really good considering that you got the idea after reading the definition of the word. Look forward to reading more from you. I am going to read other things you have written. Keep up the great work.

ImaginationFlow chapter 1 . 3/26/2010
Now that I've read this; I just can't see the Pond as an innocent, calm place where the Goddess resides anymore. Which in a way, is a good thing. I like to see different angles on things. It's amazing how you managed to write it so well... Truly inspiring!
Jean Cooper chapter 1 . 3/8/2010
Wow. Just wow.

It's beautiful, and very epic. I can't beleive you can force so much into a one shot. Kudos to you and good luck in the contest.
Mage the Observer chapter 1 . 2/22/2010
Wow... just... wow...

I honestly didn't think I'd find an entry more disturbing than mine was. Seriously, this is deeply chilling.

Entry verified, and good luck in the contest!
Accidentally The Whole Fanfic chapter 1 . 2/18/2010
Interesting premise... sacrifices to the Harvest Goddess? And of course the whole "be careful what you wish for" angle... I like it. It's kind of inspired me to try something similar, if you wouldn't mind me piggybacking off the idea. I wouldn't mind seeing more stories in this vein from you, if you ever felt so inclined.
Breething Blue chapter 1 . 2/16/2010
This is really superb. I got goosebumps while reading, especially towards the end.

The Goddess Pond, perhaps not as friendly as one might initially think.
Lorelei547 chapter 1 . 2/13/2010
I enjoyed this, like others said before it does seem so innocent at first then by the end wow.

Erie, it was. Nice job it gave me the chills.
Caramel Day chapter 1 . 2/13/2010
This was a little odd, but really well done. I had fun reading it.
Z.Zia chapter 1 . 2/13/2010
Loved the dark approach here. You really pulled through with the theme.
Corax2009 chapter 1 . 2/13/2010
I'm a relative newcomer to the Harvest Moon series. All I've played/owned is Island of Happiness. So if you're using actual characters, I don't know them. But heck, you give them enough life to draw me in.

Thanks for this submission.
sugarapplesweet chapter 1 . 2/13/2010
Entry verified!

This story was really chilling for me to read. At first it seems so innocent, and then it gradually gets darker until the very end. Just like a good old fashion ghost story. And the amount of detail only strengthened that.

Good luck in the contest!

Rapid-Starr chapter 1 . 2/13/2010
Wow, that was simply amazing!

I loved how you used the topic in this. I hadn't really thought about using it in this way. I was totally drawn in to this and found myself reading it several times through just to make sure I didn't miss a single thing!

Well done Moonlit! I wish you luck in the contest!
