I heard a legend like it once except it was more specific.

The girl was home alone durring a thunderstorm and is frightened by the thunder so she sleeps with her dog (also a golden retriever) and whenever she wakes up she gets the dog to lick her hand to make sure he's still there. This happens a few times and when she wakes up she finds her dog, dead and hanging from the shower head (by its collar presumably) and written on the wall is "The Jersey Devil can lick hands too".

I'm not sure but I think that's the original. But I prefer your version. Good job!

That was so creepy! But I'm glad they didn't die...but who would do that to a dog! Jeez, people are freaks. Anyway, good story. It actually really scared me, I didn't realize I was trembling slightly until now, haha.

I think they die at the end of the urban legend, but that's just me. But back to the point, this was a good story.
