Oh fuck the hell yes.

I've been looking for a good, old school story from DMC's technical heyday. The reboot hadn't even been announced (at least in early 2010), and the fourth game was still fresh in everyone's mind, though I wound up growing to somewhat dislike that entry later on. Still! This is representative of a radically different time in the fandom, before there was an intense toxicity, before there was a fragmented community. . . Yes, this harkens back to happier times.

This is all just good clean fun, with every fan-favorite character present in a rather harmonious way. It's totally different to anything you'd see nowadays, and that's special, THIS. . . is god damn special.

It's well written, the character's are on point, the story is classic series perfection and the grammar is actually serviceable. Honestly, it's smooth, I love it completely. I wish people still wrote stories like this, the only modern equivalent I can think of is Stylish Crusades, which similarly has a harmonious combination of most characters in a way that makes canonical sense. Of course, that was started around the same time, and remains one of the rare holdovers from this earlier area still being written. I'm grateful for finding this, somehow.

Okay, if I haven't said it before, I'll say it now. I LOVE YOU!

First, there was a lot of funny stuff in here. I particularly loved how Nero was in hysterics, laughing at Dante. I can picture it. Hell, I've done it.

But more-over, you're account of Dante's time with Patty? Perfect! I love the anime, and the last episode is my favourite, of all time; you could feel all the previous episodes leading up to it (the foreshadowing with Sid, the bond growing with Patty-despite all their bickering). You described the happenings perfectly. It took me several watchings of the series to conclude Patty's locket was the pendant in the last episode, and that its power was revealed because of her loyalty, her belief, in Dante. Frigging LOVED it.

This is an excellent one-shot, and I really like how you ended it. :)

This is an amazing story! Imagining Patty coming onto Nero and Dante-OVERLY PROTECTIVE DANTE-walking in on them kissing was TOO GREAT! I absolutely Loved it! I really enjoyed this story! Definitely one of the best Devil May Cry stories I've read in a while. This really brightened up my day. You're an amazing writer and everyone was just about perfectly in character. I Love it!

Hi, great to see you again! I'm proud to say that I'm one of the ones who DID ask about Patty attacking Nero. :) I'm happy that you're back, and I look forward to reading more of your fics! I noticed a few typos, but it was nothing major and so I enjoyed the differences I saw in the one-shot. :D Please keep up the excellent work!

So I finally gave ‘Guys Night Out’ a go. And I am really glad I did. This was so refreshing from the usual starkness that the anime portrayed, yet I was able to make several cool comparisons. For example when you described the lavish environment Trish created, and then I read the line where Trish did it without Dante’s OK, I couldn’t help but remember Patty’s redecoration of Dante’s office in the anime. Of course I bet in this case Dante wouldn’t complain!

I also cheered at your general setting there, which was Dante trying to take a pity on Vergil for trying to pursue Lady (oh yes quite a challenge – good luck!) All in all, this was just a wonderful read to sit down to with a glass of good wine and purely enjoy.

I will highlight some of my personal favourites for you here:

‘If he lost there were probably gonna be a few less demons hanging around…’ – Oh yes, I can just so see that happening! Super.

"She may have been created to catch my eye, but she's more than eye candy - that's a given. I may have thought the wrapping looked somewhat familiar but she sure delivered on being a mind blowing package. Unfortunately for me, she wasn't a one stop delivery. But she eventually came to rest at my door - all by herself, I might add," he finished smugly. – such a great analogy (I had to laugh at that, a lot. Dante is smarter than he looks *wink*)

"Little human girl my ass. The term 'death grip' is more in keeping with her to my mind. And, as I recall, you nearly killed me for something I didn't even see coming. That's just wrong," Nero retorted furiously. – pure ROFL! And I couldn’t believe when you added Vergil as Patty’s victim afterwards. That was just pure gold! It was nice to see the turn to come to Dante – I so remember the frilly girly pink. Yikes! And Dante just kept digging himself into a deeper hole there. That was so exuberantly funny.

I really liked how you in a way described an episode from the anime (about the brothers) in a conversation between the three, and added your own explanations. That was really cool and added a nice twist.

Finally what I loved as you progressed through the story was how they started by complaining about Patty and what a menace she was, and towards the end completely turning the page and giving her almost awed, silenced respect.

Well in a way, the story took a turn I didn’t expect (heck I expected some wisdom being drilled into Vergil about Lady), but I couldn’t help but love it nonetheless! Thanks for the wonderful read! Yours truly, Tora.

This story is awesome! I really liked how you wrote Dante, Vergil, and Nero's interaction, and I laughed really hard when they told first-encounter-with-Patty stories. Hey, do you think you can write out the whole incident where Patty kissed Nero and nearly got the poor somehow-descendant of Sparda killed? I bet it would be really funny! Or maybe expand on Vergil's story about being rendered unconscious? Anyway, I really loved this story and I hope you decide to continue it!

In relation to how Nero is connected to Sparda, it's confirmed by a capcom worker that Nero is Vergil's son... how that works I have no idea, but I accept it. Sadly it seems that neither of them know of it... though it would add a good element into some conversations.

Overall, kept me entertained for a while. the humor was so-so, but it does seem like you nailed every one's personality on the head. lookin forward to reading your other works.

This is great! I laughed so hard after seeing Vergils and Neros reactions to everything Patty had done to Dante during the anime as well as their own encounters with her.

If I had my way, I'd be screaming "OMG SO CUTE!" right about now. Or probably halfway through the story. XD

But since I'm reading this at work (*coughs*), I can't. Nor could I properly laugh at all the humorous bits. It was a tough job containing my laughter, I tell you!

I really enjoyed this so far! The house sounds wonderful, although I must admit I only skimmed through that part. I was a little more fixated on seeing the boys interact with each other. Hehe.

Yes, Dante is so protective of Patty, no? I can so see him doing just that as Patty grows older. Hmm... but I really need to rewatch the DMC anime again. I can't remember everything that happens already. I remember her saving Dante during the Abigail incident, but not the one with Ebony...

But I really like how Patty... left an impression on each of the three guys. She's a real handful all right. Actually, the way Patty "greeted" Vergil was... exactly how I pictured her to have. In fact, for my DMC fic, because I've sorta planned out how I want it to end, there's a scene in the planned epilogue in which Patty greets Vergil in very much the same way, though sans Vergil getting knocked out by her pendant. XD

You must write the next chapter! I don't care how long it takes, but this ABSOLUTELY HAS TO BE continued! :D
