Jason Gideon died in season 10. He was killed by the only unsub him and Rossi never caught. He was killed in his cabin where her shot a bird picture to let Rossi know who killed him. Rossi taunted the fucker so that he shot at Rossi and then Rossi shot back and killed him getting revenge for him murdering Gideon.

I had the same arguement with my mom too, but Jason Gideon is indeed alive. He left Reid the letter and got into his car after visiting a gas station staying he didn't know where he was heading and drove off into the sunset.

HE IS ALIVE!

no Jason Gideon left because of emotional issues after his girlfriend was murdered by a serial killer near the biggining of season 3

Gideon is alive he just drove off into the horizon to try and regain his belief in happy endings. I'm a little mad at him for the way he left Reid but for the most part I forgive him (but just leaving a letter for Reid to find was a bad move seeing as Reid saw him as a mentor/father figure and his father left him the same way).

me and my mother have this debate with my little brother all the time. gideon is alive the only people who says he is dead are the people who didn't like him in the first place.
