That was an amazing story and the ending was nicely done. I'm assuming (as well as hoping) that they survived all that crap since c'mon, they're great shinobi! And Naruto is not that weak. Lol. If they died just from that then that would be funny.

I'm going to chose to believe that that means Sasuke and Naruto and Na-chan all come through the fight okay, a little (a lot) bloodied & beat up but perfectly fine. And then Sasuke and Naruto live happily ever after. What a great story. Your writing is superb and absolutely lovely. I wish you used line breaks though!

Amazing story! Had me enthralled the entire time! What got my attention to read this fic was that Sasuke was blind. I wanted to see how a relationship could develop under those circumstances. Your writing is impeccable and you did a really great job at representing not only a believable representation of what a blind sasuke would be like, but a Sasuke that not only working for a criminal organization but that is also quite a slut! lol Anyways, I enjoyed the dilemma of Naruto being married and being unable to resist Sasuke, no matter how he tried. My favorite parts were the first couple of encounters with Sasuke, the first of which he was confused as hell about what Sasuke was doing, and then following ones of him telling sasuke it wouldn't happen again, but then it eventually did hehe Other nice scenes I really enjoyed reading about were when Sasuke with his hands tried seeing Naruto after ordering him out of the blue to strip, and when Naruto noticed the change in Sasuke's eyes when he strained to try to see him. Wayyy sad and marked a change in Sasuke that i loved! And the scene when Naruto confessed to having a wife and the one when he demanded Sasuke quit his job and Sasuke kicked him out for good in which Naruto left! This story was very angst filled which I loved. The ending though. I wish to know your take on the ending. Obviously it's open to interpretation, but the way it was written, Sasuke sensed that his message had made it in time and him smiling leads me to believe that he trusts in Naruto to outbest the assassin. And looking at this realistically, even if Naruto was a bit out of shape at first he did get back to a semblance of his former tip top shaped self, so Naruto is not one to go down easily. Sasuke on the other hand, well it was written: "I'll make it quick" in which Sasuke thinks: Sachiko was right, it was quick. The wording of that leads me to believe that part of what Sachiko said was right. Even if she did not succeed, the outcome from there on was quick. Sasuke fired a final attack and it ended quick. He didn't think, she made it quick, but it was quick. The ending the first time I read it, struck me as surprising. I didn't see how it could end there, I didn't see it as an ending. But the couple of more times I read it, the more I understood. That not only was it an ending, but a beginning lol Truly enjoyed reading this in one sitting! You did a great job with this story : ) I'm off to bed!

Youre just a damn amazing writer. Those scenes at sasukes house-I've never read something so vivid. I could see the light; the music; the movie romance when they went swimming. You truly captured the magic of their chemistry so well that it was inevitable naruto would divorce Hinata becaus that level of love can't be ignored. It was so domestic and calm and intense I couldn't believe it. Im quite sure sasukes alive at the end.

Hmm ... Maybe im being optimistic but I would like to believe sasuke killed the female and Naruto was able to reach sasuke in time to save him from the blink of death... No? Does the ending I wish for sound incredibly sappy?

The ending is brilliant. The whole story is great. But how I read the ending, Sasuke dies. Maybe because the right thing would be for him to die. That would make the story absolutely solid, and keep the moral behind the story, the lessons to bear learned, balanced. While Naruto took too long to get his act together, Sasuke was at fault, too. As a hired killer, he took many lives, including the husband of that wife, from whom he sensed no threat. He killed innocents, and there's no way that someone like him should morally or ethically be allowed to live the rest of his life happy. And Naruto, cheating on his wife for months, leaving her broken-hearted and their new house empty... It needed to be reciprocated that Sasuke's home would end up being empty of him too. The Naruto storyline is all about restoring balance as the solution to the cycle of hatred. There needs to be balance for a story to really stay solid. And, there's more value to the morals. More balance to the karma.

Naruto can't be the winner in all of this. He screwed around with his marriage, ultimately dissolving it. He never bothered to tell Sasuke of his marriage until months later, and then resolved to keeping it "separate" instead of confessing that he was going to "deal with it." He was so selfish from all this. Sasuke was right.. He never asked Naruto for anything at all, even though he was entitled to bring it up, but Naruto got everything from it. He cheated on his wife for months, and then got all the rewards. Until, of course, karma came full-circle, and Sasuke lost out. Even Sachiko had it right, working as a team. That's something that Sasuke abandoned long ago, and without his eyes, he lost a great deal of the power that he used to have. Every mission was a gamble, and he couldn't come out the winner every time.

The ending was powerful, too. It'd make a great movie ending, actually. It's one of those endings that if you saw, it'd impact you, and you'd walk away remembering it.

I read one of the reviews that thanked you for re-posting this story. I'm glad you re-posted it, too. This fic certainly deserves among the ranks of some of the greatest and most memorable fanfictions, and to be honest, it could somewhat easily be adapted into an original novel. Just change a few names here and there, the names of a few jutsus, a few of the settings, and you could have a period piece taking place in 1700s or 1800s Japan. Or you can adapt it to be a tale taking place anywhere in any time period, really. Even in Kill Bill they katanas as weapons.

I want to commemorate you on a great story. I like the open-endedness, which is great for people looking for moralistic value from the story, and yet still appeases those who wish for a happy ending, regardless of the idea of learning a valuable lesson in the end.

That was certainly unexpected, to me anyway; however it did manage to feel like what should have happened at the end, we can't have happy endings after all.

Its my first time reading this, but I assume it is actually a very old fic considering where it was recced at.
