I started to watch Doctor Who about a month ago (I'm starting the 4th season). And I read "His Dark Materials" years before. I loved the books so much, but damn, I cried in the end (who doesn't? e.e)
When I watch the "Doomsday", I was all like " - CROSSOVERS, NOW!" cause it was so alike, you know. So I look for a fanfic, and I found yours! You had my exactly same idea. :3
I wonder if Rose is in Lyra's universe. All of those zeppelins, you know... It would be nice.
But there's one thing that scares me. Do you remember the reason Will and Lyra had to go to their own universe? Do you think now that Rose is in another universe which is not hers, she will... Nope. I wonder if Will thought about it. Glad he had not spoken to the Doctor.

There was a reference to travel to other universes in Doctor Who as far back as 1964. And it most definitely did not begin with Rose Tyler in 2005. As you can probably tell from the mention of 1964.

...wow. It had struck me, the similarities between Will and 10, Lyra and Rose, in situation if in nothinf else. Though, /this/, this is something that hadn't occured to me. Imagine, if you will, William Parry, forlorn saviour of consciousness, becoming a Companion of the Tenth Doctor, lone saviour of worlds! Imagine Will teaching 10 to see Kirjava... oh, and the Doctor's own daemon! Oh, now that'd be fantastic...any road, if you don't write this, I will be seriously tempted to.

According to this, Doctor Who began with Rose Tyler. It did not. The Classic Series ran from 1963 to 1989, and she was the 30th companion. And the Doctor has been to other universes before. Often, in fact.

It's well written, and I like the setting. But If you continue, re-unite will and Lyra. Please. That would make you extremely awesome.

awsome please continue. i liked to read about them responding to each other. maybe even make the doctor get a external deamon. the interaction between Kirjava and such a creature would be interesting.

This was very good! I never really thought about the Doctor and Will having that much in common but I guess they do. Huh. And I agree with you, David shouldn't have left and they ruined the Golden Compass... :'( But anyway! I loved this. Please do write more. I'd like to see the Doctor meet Lyra!

I really liked it. His Dark Materials is the best book series I've ever read, and Doctor Who is my favourite TV show - and the tenth Doctor is my favourite Doctor. Quite sad, and they are fairly similar - Will'd make an okay companion, I think.

That was pretty good... Where I live there was a Doctor Who marathon on a few days ago and one of the episodes was "Doomsday"... when it came to the Doctor and Rose standing on the same spot at the wall, in different universes I was suddendly thinking "the same park bench, every year." ...

Will and the Doctor have differnet lives, they are very different and all... but I think in this one aspect they can understand each other...

I do think though, that a materialized deamon is being sen by other humans even in our world... Will saw Pan before they changed worlds, right?
