Reviews for Break of Day
Ahdaze chapter 1 . 1/12/2015
This was so mean to America... :( I mean, I get that England really did need America as an ally, but still... This was just so cruel... *sobs disgustingly*

But this was well written. I have always admired your writing, and it has always impressed me. This fic was no exception.
uhuhuhuhuhuhu chapter 1 . 3/6/2013
I love it!
dragonheart3 chapter 1 . 1/17/2013
Oh my God, why haven't I read this before?! This is fantastic! I love the dark themes and how you write is just wonderful! I have no idea how you do it, but you manage to make almost every one of your stories dark and somehow twist seemingly happy themes/quotes into serious sinister subjects that always leave my heart pounding and and face feeling like I've been slapped. The endings alway get me, Idk how you do it, but I LOVE your writing style! Please continue to write! :D The only thing I have to say I disagreed with in this fic is the UKUS, because I'm more of a USUK fan (probably my American bias lol) but I'm willing to compromise haha. You are such a gifted writer!

(I also think I'm just a sucker for your America-hurt-England-shows-concern stories lol. This and the other story where America dies are just my absolute favorite from you. Maaaybe you can write similar subjects? ,';D Haha jk, but I hope you're still in the fandom!)
TheEndofTag chapter 1 . 12/10/2012

Usuk4everandever chapter 1 . 11/14/2012
I love the way you write, I wish i could write like you do, keep up the awesome work.
Katrina chapter 1 . 9/6/2012
Do you know, there's another conspiracy theory that the America President(Franklin Roosevelt) actually knew about the Pearl Harbor bombings beforehand, but let it happened, because he wanted to convince both the public and the congress to join in WW2. The theory goes that public opinion in America at that time, was that WW2 is none of their business. But Roosevelt wanted to join in, and he knew that it will take drastic actions before that can happen. Pearl Harbor gave a chance; and he took it. The rest is history
DLHKM chapter 1 . 2/20/2012
This was very nicely done, because I KNEW that Arthur, despite being a bit enraged by the attack, would be more relieved than anything because he would FINALLY have a chance; he declared war before Alfred, after all (despite FDR's plea for Churchill to wait). Until next time!
neverlasting-legend chapter 1 . 11/10/2011
Again, so beautiful. Honestly, the "crazy little Japan" portion made me crack a smile (couldn't really laugh though because of the context) because I always thought it was stupid of Japan to do that attack. Kiku must of been on something to wake the sleeping giant. But back to the story, I thought the piece was excellent as always. You have this way of taking off the freakin' rose tinted glasses to reveal the grittier side of the series. I think what touched me the most was the scene where America and England died next to each other and their little banter during one of their many deaths. Also, if I had my damn list of rhetorical devices, I would seriously say something about "He had slept the sleep of the saved. America had slept the sleep of the condemned." That's just powerful. But, yeah, going through a list of tabs I've read and reread to review. Might be a few more coming that might sound repetitive (just because all your stories are awesome).
FictionalSandbox chapter 1 . 10/22/2011
This is one of the best USUK fics I've read in a while.

Your story was both beautifully written and incredibly meaningful. I loved the flashbacks to the night before - they were well done, and fitted seamlessly with the 'morning after' sections. Your scaling-down of real events to fit the lives of the nations was bang-on, too.

But you managed to incorporate humour into your fic, too. I loved the RoChu jibes, and, for some reason, the description of Japan as 'crazy' and 'little'. Your characterisation was excellent, too, and your drunk talk.

Meh. In short, there was nothing about this fic that I didn't like. Except that it made me feel a little depressed about my own writing skills, and the general sordidness of history. (Wow, sordidness is a word?) This is definitely going on my faves, and I'll be recommending it to friends of mine who ship USUK!

CherryFlamingo chapter 1 . 6/1/2011
That was touching. I'm glad it wasn't all rainbows and angst. Just a sweet kind of mix; my favorite kind. 3
truetest chapter 1 . 4/9/2011
I love this. As with O America, you seamlessly merge the emotions of the nations as people into the emotions of that the collective nation itself was feeling during a certain time in history. And, as always, your writing is lovely to read... Details of the quiet of the early dawn juxtaposed against the powerful, loud feelings of the night before were very well articulated.

The idea for this was also interesting - taking a look at the Pearl Harbor bombing in relation to what it meant in regards to England's salvation was something I hadn't really thought of. Then again, I don't really know much about history... though thanks to Hetalia, I've started researching things I wouldn't otherwise have been interested in.) So the new perspective was refreshing, too.

A great little one-shot :)
PikaNecoMico chapter 1 . 10/2/2010
I normally don't get very into one-shots, but you are, as always, the exception.

The way you portrayed their relationship (the balance between dependency and taking-advantage) really drew me in. It was interesting to see some UKxUS.
Klei chapter 1 . 9/27/2010
...I don't know what to say. That was just... WOW. The sheer awesomeness of this story has rendered me unable to come up with a fitting compliment. It's just too good to be bound by any one adjective. I... I love it so very much.

Whether or not that conspiracy is true, there's no point getting worked up over it now. The past is past. The journey to world peace will be a long one, if such a concept is even attainable at all. Forgiveness is the best way to start. :3
KittKatt420 chapter 1 . 8/5/2010
OMG! It was so awesomely written!

U have a way with twisiting words into such an awesome story!

Great job! It was awesomely and eloquently written!

I love it! Its so epic and awesome! XD
EyesTurnedSkyward1969 chapter 1 . 7/21/2010
That is a silly place to put a fish o-O. Haha. Anyways, fabulous! I really want to see what happened in the rest of the war though and how it was decided that America would bomb Japan. Maybe you could write another like that...? Loved the Thanks, you stupid prick line. As always, your characters fit perfectly,m and their reactions are just what you'd expect. Great description and keep up the good work! PS- I know you said you were in America in a different story, but i was wondering: how did you like it?
