Here is an interesting fun fact. (As I obsessivly is reading/watching Durarara yet again... lol)

Shizuo is very old fashioned. He refuse to hit girls, even when they try to kill him. And he picks on the guy who's in love with celty's head for not knowing his girlfriend properly, claiming it is irresponsible. He also seems pretty angry at him for claiming she is his desteny without a better reason that 'Because I love her.'

...just before he says he likes him better than Izaya. Last fight I recall, he said 'at least I hate you less than Izaya.' And the one before there had nothing to do with Izaya, but he couldn't kill the person cuz she was, well, a girl and friends with Mikado...so, shizuo-logically enough, he went to beat up Izaya...

To say Shizuo is obsessed with Izaya is, i think, an understatement.
His whole damned world revolves around him.

I strongly suspect that once Shizuo wraps his head around the fact that he loves Izaya, (something I suspect he will have Celty tell him. Oh, Shinra would tell him...and get bashed into a wall...but he seems to have a conection with Celty that makes him -actually- believe in everything she says.) onces he accepts that what he feels is love... I suspect he will treat Izaya in a more traditional I-am-salaryman-and-I-love-my-housewife-tosses-gifts-and-sweettalk way. Expect Izaya can annoy even rocks, so I predict lots of fights. *Chuckles* I also would say that he would end up being entirely too rough in bed...Izaya will love it, even if he may need to see Shinra about the aftereffects at occasion...and Shizuo will end up buying him flowers or tuna or something and apologize profoundly, despite Izaya telling him not to. *Laughs*

Anyway... Just my prediction. I obsess when I find something (or someone) I love, and read entirely too many psychology books in the college library (and on kindle) *Chuckles* Feel free to use my knowledge any way you want. ;).

And the stupid ffnet says only one fanfic per page, so I have to hope there exist one chapter I have not yet comented on. Lol ;

And I think you don't need to worry too much about Shizuo gowing soft...he IS a soft, sweet person, deep down, if a bit bad with words and having a heavy anger managment problem. If he stops being in denial about Izaya, he can easilly become rather sweet...even if Izaya will occasionally make him throw heavy things at him. *Chuckles*

Izaya on the other hand is liable to be sweet in the way a creepy stalker that manipulates people is sweet. I don't think he would keep hating Shizuo, even if he keeps seeing through Izayas plots. I think he will end up finding the constant surprices endearing. I do remember a moment in the anime were he acts plesantly surpriced at Shizuo doing something that foils his plans, because he loves surprices. He even helps people fuck up his plans from time to time in the manga series. He absolutly LOVE surprices, and when people are unpredictable. Plus, he is unpredictable enough himself, and he knows it. (He does state he wouldn't trust himself either, since he never know what he will do from one moment to the next.)

I was half expecting Tom to offer him a job...assuming he didn't realize his stage name, and he proboably didn't, Tom doesn't seem like he cares much for celebreties and the pop music scene. And it would help Shizuo feel he had an option if he quit the music biz.

Anyway... I am looking forward to see the next chapter. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it comes quickly! *Grins*

Oooh, the poor girl... She's going to end up dead isn't she? No... that's more Shizuo's style... She's going to have her life ruined after a random maniac throws acid at her through the car window ajd destroys her face, hand and leaves burnmarks all over her body, isn't she? *Grins exitedly clapping my hands* (Oh, fyi, that DID happen to a model in London and her friend.)

Ah, I guess I was wrong... anger may have made him loose a bit of his clever elegance, tho she certantly got a poetic justice punishment. *Chuckles* Or is it just the beginning...? *Snickers* Rape first, acide later and such. Izaya do seem to be vengeful.

And I was so sure that Izaya had just used Shizuo's hand to jerk himself off with or somethinh, so Shizuo would worry about that stickyness in the morning... this is actually better. *Laughs* Brilliant! I wonder how he plays it from here tho... silver is usually more an engagement ring, while gold is more traditional for marrige tho... not that Shizuo necesarilly knows that, with so many wearing white gold that looks like silver. *Chuckles*

I really hope you have them go all the way in the sexual sense at least. *Chuckles* As for marrige... I would say yes.
For Izaya, it is an insurance that it will be much, much harder for Shizuo to run away from him, and Izaya fear loosing someone he cares about above all else. For Shizuo... I imagine he would be a bit old fashioned and awkwardly romantic. He most likely included marrige and a white pickled fence (or the japanese version of it) in his dream of a perfect, peaceful life.

In my experience, it isn't cheating if both you and your bf makes out with the same girl, or even sleeps with the same guy, as long as it happens at the same party anyway... so I think you're in the clear for sharing something as innocent as a date. *Chuckles*

I'm a bit surpriced that Izaya hasn't yet decided Shizuo is a monster... I mean... He always thinks of him as one in the canon, that is not just something he teases him with. In adition, while he may love all humans equally...could one not imagine that for a god to fall in love, it could only be with someone who was something -more- than a human? *Chuckles*

I wonder if Izaya sees himself as a stalker... *Chuckles* He proboabbly would. He knows himself exceptionally well. And while I am convinced he has more than a touch of the Narcessistic Personality Disorder, he is not delutional about his more unsavory part...or how weak he really is...as much as he is a coward, he does embrace even that.

Considering that no artist gets that big without an impressive repotoar of love songs... I really wonder what his love-hate-passion feelings for Izaya does to his songs. After all... all artists' song are a reflection of their emotions. If they did not reflect real emotions, they would not be a big hit, as people tend to hear and feel when songs are fake or superficial.

I have to commend you for managing to keep Izaya in character better than most other fanfic writers manage, even if you sometimes do not quite understand his motivation, as he never quite care to -win- his games -he wins by playing and enjoying the game and observing how his beloved humans act, rather than the end result- but even in love, he would never get mushy, and you actually manage to capure how he would act quite beautifully.

You also manage to keep Shizuo in character, which is wonderful (although he -would- turn mushy...once he get over his denial.)

And as much as I would like to pick at being gay woudn't be a big deal...in japan, especially for an idol, it really -would- be a big deal. You even get the cultural aspect right. *Chuckles*

And how Izays would still play his games, regardless how much he loves someone, because a person like him cannot stop. I know that better than anyone. *Smiles sardonically*

Your story is TRULY amazing! *Grins* Especially considering it is an AU... which most writers use as an exuse to fuck everything up. It is laudable that you manage to keep everyone in-character AND write an amazing story!

I am not familliar with the japanese school system, but I can offer an idea based on the older norwegian one... When they all meet is in High School... And there used to be a seperation based on what work-related direction your high school education took. (As in health worker vs mechanical line vs arts and so on), and while norwegian schools do not have uniform, at the last year, they DO have a sort of celebratory 'uniform' they can, and usually do, buy. And the color of it depends on what type classes you are taking. It's kinda like going to seperate schools, but in the same school building. Maybe it is possible the japanese svhool system in their days had such a thing as well?

Ooooh! I've ALWAYS wanted to see how it went if Izaya managed to get Shizuo on his side! *Grins* Actually, there is a fic in which they are childhood friends were it sort of happens...tho Shizuo gets roped into being Izaya's bodyguard mainly, and Izaya is sadly a bit more...soft. I would have LOVED to see how it would turn out if he played his usual games and roped Shizuo into working with him on them. Or being his secretary or assistant or whatever. *Grins* Imagine him replacing Nakami (or whatever her name was again.) Bringing him tea and whatnot, listening to his crazy antics and outburst and pointing out potential issues with his plans. *Chuckles* One of the reasons Izaya states for dislikeing Shizuo is that he is TOO perceptive. He understand Izaya in a way no one else does, but in other ways he don't understand a thing. He's an interesting combination of perceptive and stupid...

I suspect Shizuo is actually pretty smart, but he gets carried away by his emotions entirely too quickly. Have you ever considered how he might be in bed? Maybe the reason he never have a girlfriend (or bf) is because he may have tried it, and ended up hurting his partner in his passonate moment.

He can't control himself when his emotions runs high. He would bruise his partner just by grabbing their wrist...imagine what that says for sex... With Izaya tho, he'd just love the danger and exitement. Pain doesn't seem to bother him much...or maybe he's a masochist. He may be the only one who can handle Shizuo's passion.

I also suspect that, because Shizuo is so VERY strong in what he feels (like when someone impersonated Celty and made her a bit upset, he decided to beat them to death), if he had an emption as strong as love... try and imagine just how posessive and chocking his attention would be. He deals with worry by resorting to violence, he goes overboard with every single emotional thing he does... He would surely scare away any normal person.

I think Izaya is the only one insane enough to be able to handle Shizuo, wheither emotionally or physically.

Why did you decide to change it so Izaya dislike surprices? He's always loved it when his sumans supriced him, and treasured it more than when they are boring, even when they foil his plans. Oo
