Reviews for On Love and Loyalty
Moranx3 chapter 1 . 12/30/2015
Awww! I love this! Seriously, thank you for making it vague so that shippers and family shippers come together perfectly! This is for a wider audience, and I like it that way. Thank you for writing this. :D
Panic at the Beatles Disco chapter 1 . 5/2/2013
That was lovely! Good work
Grey Pezzola chapter 1 . 2/18/2011
First of let me say I liked this, I really did.

But I think you might have had a bit more Fail!french than you would have liked.

"You could never 'andle loss well. Jamais! One colony gets away and you weep for years."

Jamais?

Are you trying to say never? Because if you are, it's Ne Jamais. Jamias by itself is the moral equivalent of saying Every time, or ever.

It's like Do and Don't. Same verb, just the n't makes it into Do Not.

I hope this helps.

Anyways, loved the story, I love Canada, I just love it. :3
GlowingMechanicalHeart chapter 1 . 11/23/2010
Love this fic, love this pairing and love the way you write your fics. And yes I agree with you that this pairing is sadly lacking. Ok, I'll stop rambling.

This is how this relationship goes in my head canon, Matthew always there, quietly, silently and constant. And Arthur needing that push too see what's in front of him. Lovely fic, enjoyed it a lot.
Tatsumaki-sama chapter 1 . 10/25/2010
This was just sweet and heartwarming all at once. As you said, there isn't enough Canada and England stories out there and this one was just great to read. The ending with Canada's last line was the one that got me the most. Despite what others offer Canada, England is the one he likes to stay with.
natcat5 chapter 1 . 9/12/2010
Ah~ Another fic of yours that I adore...

"It was as though the boy straddled the border between the spiritual and temporal world, free to come and go as he wished."

Aw, SHIT. Dang it, you just gave me a story prompt. As if I didn't have ENOUGH Hetalia story ideas running through my Head T_T

Still, this was very sweet. You write a lot of these MAtthew growing up fics don't you? :3
TheWeird'n'Mindful chapter 1 . 8/24/2010
Wow, what a great little piece it was really cute! I've found that I really enjoy Arthur/Matthew after stumbling upon another fic and add into the fact I really really like countries' colony days stories I've found awesomeness. I loved how you took just a little bit over the years of them together. Even the vagueness at the end didn't bother me, because it's usually a pet peeve of mine.
Hyzenthlayfox chapter 1 . 6/25/2010
This was amazingly written. I loved it dearly, and is delighted that you wrote about a pairing that for some reason, is rarely seen, (and I'm not even sure why that is, I think its a good pairing...)

Anyways, thanks for writing this. I enjoyed it!
InsolitaParvaPuella chapter 1 . 6/3/2010
Eeee~ 3 I love this pair to bits, I'm so glad to have found this fic! The history! The drama! The cute!

I'm really quite terrible at reviewing, so just know that I absolutely loved this fic into tiny little pieces, and the history is lovely to read. I'm totes curious, though, what the Suez Canal and Chanak Crises would have entailed, seeing as both were rather sour periods during their relations.

But that's just me, and this fic is awesome just as it is! Thank you for writing it!
ephemeral.DELUSiON chapter 1 . 5/31/2010
I need more of this right now.

[Especially that England-France banter over Mattie. Ohmy.]

This was lovely. That; and the fact that Arthur/Canada needs to exist more! D8

Mygoodness how you made my day. ;A; -hugs-
HatterUpHigh chapter 1 . 5/30/2010
There's a reason I've subscribed to you. That was brilliant, you are right, these two don't get enough love together. I can't wait for your next update!
somethingsomethingsomething chapter 1 . 5/29/2010
I'm happy to see another fanfiction of this pairing. It's so rare, but I really like it. I find it a little surprising how scarce England/Canada is compared to France/Canada though, considering that English Canada was far more fond of England than the French Canada was of France throughout most of Canadian history.

I really enjoyed your story. My favourite part was the scene at the end with England and Canada. It was so cute! I also found the banter between Francis and Arthur amusing. I thought they were both really in character. Some of their wittier remarks really had me giggling. Oh! But as much as I liked that part of the story, I still can't figure out what Francis and Arthur are actually arguing about. (I can be a bit of a history fail somtimes)

At first I assumed it had something to do with the whole "Vive le Québec libre" thing at Expo 67/Québec separatism since Arthur was going on about how Fracis' "little stunt" had ruined Matthew. Then Fancis went and mentioned something about Matthew seeking independence from Arthur, which completely threw me off. So now I'm curious as to what event they were actually talking about. I probably should know my own country's history, but do you think you could give me a hint anyway? Please?

Anyhoo~ I'm happy to have been able to read your story and I wish you luck on whatever writing projects you may have in the future :D
awaylaughing chapter 1 . 5/29/2010
I was just thinking I wanted some fluffy UK/Canada you're a mind reader. :) Seriously though, this made my heart hurt a little, but in a good way. The second last part with France made me whimper a bit, I got strange looks, and England is so...England in this. I love it. A lot.
Distressed fan chapter 1 . 5/29/2010
"I mean, I don't even watch hockey regularly but I was ready to fly to Vancouver to tie Luongo to the net during the Olympics..."

LOOL. You are just made of so much win and awesome XD

(We were proud as hell of Luongo after though... And of Miller ])

I'm not really an England/Canada fan because... Well I don't feel any connection with that country at all x And history-wise, there's nothing I'm particularly passionate about either (between them).. But your stories are so well-written, can't help but read it xD

Anyways thanks for the story (again) _
I Brake For Bishounen Boys chapter 1 . 5/29/2010
I love this story to pieces. :) I wish I could say more, but I'm too busy eking out right now and if I decided to wait until later to give you a coherent review, then I'd forget. Matthew was positively perfect in this story, but your Arthur was just so touching and affecting.

Really incredible.

-Stardust.
