Reviews for The Princess and the Cowboy
SuperWonderStan chapter 42 . 8/10/2019
Noooo...!
Come back and continue this please?!

What a cliffhanger to be left hanging from for years now. Is there any hope of an update?
SuperWonderStan chapter 1 . 8/8/2019
I had been hesitant to start this story seeing as how it hasn't been updated in a long time. However, having gone through just about all the complete SMWW stories and the currently active ones, I was in need of a "fix".

This first chapter alone?! WoW.

I'm in for the ride and sincerely hope you'd be inspired to continue this story. I am not far in and can already tell you have a gem here. Can't wait to read more where this story is going.
Guest chapter 7 . 2/2/2019
You have absolutely NO idea of the wide variety of agricultural activities in the Great Plains States. They are too numerous to list here. Also, a grain farmer has NO need to dress up as a Hollywood cowboy which makes your portrayal idiotic at best. The only time a farmer would bother wearing some cowboy-type clothing is if he/she had a pet horse for the sole purpose of recreational riding, which would probably not be that often. You & others like you NEED to come out here & work on different kinds of farms just to gain a more accurate idea of what farm life is like out here. You CANNOT base it on British farm life. 50 years ago I had a very distant relative that outright owned TEN SQUARE MILES of farmland...& worked it every day.
Guest chapter 37 . 1/12/2019
I can't finish this. It started out EXTREMELY slow, which is somewhat understandable. Sadly, it continued to build very slow. However, it did begin to pick up some speed. The story branched out in weird & bizarre ways, but seemed to find its' way back. It has now become an "Alice in LSD-land" trip. This story started out as an interesting AU but lost its' way, instead it became a bad Conan the Barbarian/Clash of the Titans mish-mash. Perhaps if handled with far greater delicacy this kind of transition might work. You lost me several chapters ago.
Guest chapter 34 . 1/12/2019
The Kent General Store. Lana Lang the Insect Queen. Krypto the Superdog. You're reaching back 50, 60, or more years into comic book history. Of these themes only Krypto has been resurrected in various forms. As bizarre as it sounds for an extremely brief period there was also "Beppo the Super-Monkey." There was also a magic-based character named "ZHA-VAM" in the mid-60's. Even though ZV was a bad-guy, I wonder if the ORIGINAL Capt Marvel (Shazam) might have been an inspiration. The 60's was also a time of great weirdness at DC.
Guest chapter 31 . 1/12/2019
The beginning of this chapter is little more than a series of sentence fragments. A rare one for dramatic &/or artistic effect is understandable but this is absurd. The beginning is harsh & difficult to understand because you are forced to guess at what might be connecting the fragments.
Guest chapter 30 . 1/11/2019
You use far too many British phrases and, worse, slang. The USA is your biggest audience & you're ignoring us. American studios & publishing houses (even if foreign owned!) release an overwhelming number of American-themed products for WORLDWIDE consumption. Remember, the key word is "worldwide." In order to be marketed in the US, the product needs to be "Americanized." Back in the heyday of the European empires this was unnecessary. Now that these empires have mostly dissolved, well... I have enjoyed many BBC programs on PBS. I'm certain that other countries have equally high-quality tv shows.
Guest chapter 23 . 1/11/2019
The Green Lantern Corps is an INTERgalactic group of peace officers. Oa is at the center of the UNIVERSE! You still have had numerous misspellings, problems with punctuation, & a few grammar problems (but not too many). The Guardians would have COMPLETELY depowered a missing Lantern, possibly causing it to disappear. Each Lantern is powered by the Central Power Battery which I suspect is more-or-less the core of Oa.
Guest chapter 15 . 1/11/2019
OK, THIS STORY HAS JUST GOTTEN MAJOR FREAKING STUPID! ! ! ! ! You have just ripped everything apart, burned it all to ash, then burned the ashes to nothingness. This has just now become a Bizarro Universe story, & not a good one. How do you plan on digging yourself out of this hole? "Elseworlds" stories can be fun, unusual, or many other things or combinations of things. I don't know about this one. . . .
Guest chapter 9 . 1/11/2019
Realistically Smallville would be located in central Kansas although western KS might be a bit more likely. I've read that Metropolis & Gotham City were inspired by different parts of New York City. NYC has even been referred to as "Gotham" but not in a comic-book way. This means that there is about 1500 /- miles between Smallville & Metropolis. Even the "big Apricot" nickname is a direct analog of "the big Apple." A whole bunch of you need to chip in money, rent a Winnebago, & drive around the USA. You'll gain a better perspective of Kal-El's adopted country (it's a really big place!).
Guest chapter 6 . 1/11/2019
In this interpretation, does this mean that Martians are true hermaphrodites as in the earthworm?
Guest chapter 4 . 1/11/2019
You need to learn a very basic level of Human Anatomy & Physiology. Skin & tissue cells are replaced from UNDERNEATH & those on top simply slough off (they detach and fall off). I know that this story was written a fair number of years ago but DNA samples can also be obtained in the saliva. Classic Star Trek usually tried to avoid detailed pseudo-scientific descriptions because the creator & some of the writers were keenly aware of the scientific advances at that time & chose to make generalized extrapolizations. The "transporter" was a matter of FX budget.
Guest chapter 3 . 1/11/2019
Interesting, you've changed the Martian Manhunter's gender. You have a number of spelling errors since the 1st chapter as well as the typical British spelling of other words.
Guest chapter 2 . 1/11/2019
Hey! You people ALWAYS get it WRONG! Absolutely all of the Plains States are THE West! Even to this day we still have honest-to-God cowboys out here. We've got ranches here that are bigger than the state of Rhode Island. I had a distant relative that had 10 sq miles of farmland. I'm originally a small-town kid & it's still more appropriate for me to dress in cowboy boots & a plain Stetson than ANYONE in Nashville, TN, even the richest ones. I've spent a couple of years in Europe. A whole bunch of you need to come out here in the REAL West & learn the difference.
Guest chapter 1 . 1/11/2019
Thank-you very much for the Charlton Comics references. They had a LOT of really good titles, such as Sarge Steel. It was difficult to find many of their titles in my neck of the woods. They deserved better than what they got.
