Damn this is good writing

I love outsider POVs on canon characters. You wrote a very credible pair of OCs, and kept the humor of the original series. I actually LOLed (loudly) at the description of Dresden and Butters on the T-Rex.

How did I miss this gem? I honestly adored this. Grace, Matt, little Arnold ... such interesting characters and fascinating outside POVs on Dresden's activities. It's a shame this wasn't 100K longer I enjoyed it that much :)

I almost didn't review, but a story this good kind of requires it.
You did a wonderful job of showing the sense of scale for small-time practitioners here. What is a hard fight, one Dresden has little chance of winning might as well be trying to fight Mab with a BB gun, for people below wizards, in the supernatural community.
The story is incredibly well written, and I can't wait to read the sequel!

Well done! Lots of fun! It's interesting to be on the outside of this adventure, from the viewpoint of one of the little people.
I hope Grace can go back to Mac's again. I'm sure that if Dresden knew of the situation, he'd put in a good word for her. It'd be a shame if she couldn't get one of Mac's brews and a good Philly cheese-steak once in a while.

Normally I don’t like OCs but your OC’s seem ordinary enough and its nice looking at another side of the Dresden verse through Outsider POVs. Also Carlos is cool.

This is very well done. There aren't nearly enough fics exploring the just-powerful-enough-to-get-in-trouble layer of supernaturals of the Dresden-verse.

This story really deserves more reviews and favorites. I was directed here by a recommended list on Spacebattles, and probably wouldn't have found them otherwise, as I am usually not one for one shots and oc centric stories. However, this story and the sequel are worth the read. You have managed to put together a high quality story, that should be read a lot more often.

Nice little side story for the novel. If Butcher ever does an anthology for other officers you should definitely submit.

This is one of the best Dresden Files fics I've read. Fantastic all around. I really enjoyed the perspective of lower level people running across Dresden and going 'oh crap...'

These stories with Grace are really great, you've got a good feel for the Dresdenverse.

It is surprisingly hard to find good fics that take place from the perspective of "little people" in any verse. I am happy to say your fic is good.
