You probably won't see this, but I love this story. Deals with the reveal better than the show did.

I like debras reaction to dexter being a serial killer much more then the tv show. It seemed like in the tv show she forgot he only killed murderers and he saved her life and was there for her a lot. So I find this reaction more realistic. I really like this story thank you for uploading :)

1. I always thought that Dexter was way too hard on himself. He calls himself a monster and says that he feels no emotions. But it's VERY obvious that he does actually have emotions. He's not such a bad guy at all. He really cares about people around him and feels regret. They way you methodically point all of this out and offer a defense of Dexter is brilliant.

2. Harry really isn't that great of a guy. He convinced Dex that he was a monster, doesn't have emotions, etc. This was imprinted on Dex's mind and prevents him from knowing the truth about himself. But as we know, Harry was wrong. This idea is something I've been considering for a long time and it is awesome to see in a story. Well done.

3. I agree with your interpretation of how Debra would react. It's more realistic and follows her personality a lot better. Apparently the fact that Dexter kills bad guys is irrelevant to Debra from the show. And she forgot the fact that he really did love Astor, Cody, and Rita. Also she forgot the fact that he killed Brian for her. I mean for god's sake, she was *awake* when Brain and Dexter were talking.

It's great to finally see Debra defend him, as it should have been in the show. Instead we got "suicidal mopey Deb for seasons 7-8."

This is probably the best "Dexter gets caught" story that exists. I wish the show would have gone this route, because it just feels so right. Thank you for writing an awesome story.

Thank you for the story. Realistic and beautifully written. It filled me with warmth and hope for this couple, especially after devastating final season.
