Good story

I just read your story, and I have to say it was absolutely amazing! I never watched "The Sarah Connor Chronicles" because I had heard it wasn't canon at all, and I thought the only real story was the Terminator movies. So I don't really know anything about the Charlie and Derek characters. But I have to say your story was awesome! It was so touching and moving. John Connor might be a hero in the future, but right now he's just a kid. Kids get sick, they get hurt, they get mad and run away, etc...your story gave a more human and realistic side to things. In fact, I often wonder why in the movies or fan fiction, when John was a kid he never just got tired of his mom telling him about the future all the time and putting so much pressure on him, and why he wouldn't just get mad and run away when he couldn't take it anymore. The contrast of Derek knowing how the adult John is in the future, but seeing him now as a sick, vulnerable little kid is an interesting twist.

Also, to me, it almost seems like there is a *possibility* the future could be altered. Maybe somehow Derek could prevent Judgement Day from even happening, and he could be a father figure to John and just let him be a normal kid. At least, that was my interpretation at the end of the story.

This is really good. I hope you'll write more "family" stories with derek and john

Awesome fic. I'd love to see Sarah's face when she comes back and sees Derek with John.

This was very sweet and felt very real to all the characters involved. I liked that you brought Charley into it; he's forgotten a lot in SCC (even I do it!) and I thought it was really sweet that your brought the relationship between him and John to the forefront.

I really enjoyed your story, it was well written and you have clearly put alot of thought into it. Also stories between John and Derek are rare, so well done.

Sigh. This was wonderful. Love Sarah Connor Chronicles. Love stories in that universe showing the human side of the characters. Love hurt/comfort. You managed to hit on every one of my buttons with this fic. Thank you so very much.
