I appreciate your take on Sephiroth's character and Jenova's effect on him. I hope Cloud can bring Seph's real side out more often. It's so heartbreaking to see Seph hurt Cloud just to realize his mistake because he isn't fortunate enough to be blinded throughout the whole encounter. Love this! Please continue!

How you portrayed the characters were perfect! At times I cried and at other times I was on the edge of my chair wanting more! I absolutely adore this fanfic! It's one of the best ones I've read so far. Please continue. PLEASEE!

Hmm, cool lemon. I always love when the seme have their way by force,n the uke didn't like it one bit. n the most part I love r Cloud's tears n sobs. Aw~,so sweet~. May I take him, Seph?

Now, I'm not really an expert on human emotions and behaviors, but Cloud's reaction to all this (apparently intense, undying hatred) seems a bit odd. So first of all, his father is abusive (likely towards him as well as his mother). This doesn't exactly make for a whole hell of a lot of confidence or any sense of self-worth. He's likely short and scrawny as well, seeing as all the stress from an abusive household doesn't exactly lend itself to a healthy growth pattern. Being the runt that he is, I'd bet he's also been bullied by the other (considerably larger) children of Nibelheim, further destroying any self-worth and confidence he may have clung to. Such a person isn't really likely to do all that well in the military, and yet there he is. Most likely, he started off far worse than any other cadet, and was bullied for it (yet again with the bullying). Now, by the time this whole rape thing comes around, he probably sees himself as having considerable less worth than anyone else. So what does he feel after Sephiroth has finished and is bathing him in the lake (gently, kindly)? Pain, sure. A bit self-loathing maybe, perhaps a little resentment towards Sephiroth, but foremost, confused as all fuck. First he hurt me, and now he's being gentle and looks like he actually cares? Wtf? See, there's this thing called behavioral conditioning, which Sephiroth seems to be doing unconciously. Sephiroth hurts Cloud for doing things that he thinks are wrong, and is kind to him when he is obedient. If this goes on long enough, Cloud starts to believe Sephiroth, starts to believe he deserves his "punishments" (because that's exactly what Sephiroth is making these little instances of violence out to be), and falls into the mindset of a "pet". Now, someone with extreme self-awareness and a strong will could probably hold out under these conditions and maintain the hatred that you are attributing to Cloud in this story, but considering his life until now, it is unlikely that Cloud has either of these things. In fact, he'd be even more susceptible to the conditioning, considering his aforementioned lack of self-worth. Not only that, but at the end of this chapter he has moved in with Sephiroth and is therefore going to be around him a lot more. I'd guess he'd have at the very least begun to fall into the mindset of a "pet" within a week, regardless of the occasional flash of lucidity. Again, I'm not really an expert and this is just based on my observations of people in general, so I could be wrong. Just felt like I should put this out there.

I cried and then some with this chapter. so hauntingly beautiful, horrifying and amazing all in one. I love the way you write and the way that you build your story around things so well. this chapter fell together so perfectly. the shifting moods of sephiroth... the amazing reward of love that cloud showed in return for the softness. stunning and saddening all in one. love it girlfriend! (again I apolagize for the HUGE delay on reviewing...)

Great update. I hope Sephiroth will be more nicer to Cloud for Cloud's sake.
