Wow amazing fic and very interesting plot twists!

Yea this chapter was mostly nonsense filler dialogue ripped straight from the game. Pointless.

This story is really good. You know why? Because the game is really good. And this is basically the game. Verbatim. With few deviations. At this point I might as well go play the game.

I'm not saying the author has no originality. Future chapters might be very good. But what I've read has been so unoriginal that I feel like giving up on it.

I tried again on this, skipping ahead. You fixed the problem with simply repeating game dialog. Unfortunately, the story is worse because you made Malcolm just as annoying as Allistar. If anything funny every came from either character, then I could give this a pass. Unfortunately, just like the game, nothing Allistar ever says is funny and that is repeated here.

This is a big miss for me.

I have now read all 4 parts of this story, but I think it would be for the best if I did a review here rather than on a later part. Any new reader is likeliest to check out reviews here rather than reviews on later parts of the story.

First to any person who is here and is wondering if you should read this story, I highly suggest you do. Not as much for part 1 (this part) as for later in the story. This part is good, but the story really impressed me from part 2 (In Peace We Lie) and continued to impress me more and more as I read through it.

Now, to direct something to the author. The 4 stories together are self contained in the same that an ending to a Dragon Age game is self contained. Leaving you wanting more. I would absolutely love to see more done in a future part but I'm not sure the likelihood of such a thing.

I can't continue with this. Making Malcolm an adopted Cousland just has not resulted in any significant change in the story so far. There just isn't enough different from the game. It is mostly a simple retelling, which I found boring.

Now that that's out of the way, I gotta tell you, this was probably the best DA thing I've experienced since Origins was released. It was true enough to the original game that I wasn't confused, yet still different enough to throw me off at times, and damn was it a ride. One question though: Why didn't you include the events of Warden's Keep?

You bastard. Everything was going so well! They found Shale, they fought a battle and won, they didn't even have to fit the weird cat lady demon! And now Leliana! WHY! WHY MUST YOU MAKE ME CRY NOW, YOU FANTASTIC BASTARD OF AN AUTHOR?

Hi, I've read this story twice now. I really liked the way you kept the story in line with the canon, moving around some things sometimes to make them fit better and adding some personal touches. Malcolm frustrated me at the beginning with his issues with the grey wardens but I loved the growth he experienced along the story. So thank you for writing it! :D

Is anyone going to mention that he forgot Sten? Was that on purpose? Accident and too b late to include him?

pretty descent story some things though like killing leliana and the different ending made me a little mad cool how it was a different dalish clan and that endrin was still alive but i hate how you killed leliana she and morrigan are the only ones i romance in the game

damn it. seriously. why does no-one think of the obvious. what is it every grey warden recives after their joining? a locket containing a portion of the blood that they drank. how many wardens were present? 4. if they had used all of their lockets, then mabye leliana could have survived.
