I really like how you've treated this subject. The show never said a word about it- like BAM! And he's all better. Like magic, lol! In reality, grief is a long process with many steps, and the experience differs for everyone! I wrote a fic myself where I altered the end of 2.9- he tells Arthur what's wrong. This was written with so much feeling and i really enjoyed it. There is definately more that needed to be covered regarding Merlin's pain after Freya's death. You did this very beautifully in this chapter. I am hoping the next chapter will let him find a way to come to terms with it more.
