Pardon the language, but damn it, author. You're an asshole. A crazy asshole that's going to give this poor innocent reader a freaking heart attack with all the excitement that's going on. First, you have seemingly random stories that seem like one shots about a shiny sword and census stuff, then you suddenly turn it into a genuine and well-made story? Seriously, how dare you? After that, you decide to make poor Gin-san hallucinate shissennoodle and get him to fight the government out of grief and make it super angsty and stuff and make my muscles tense. Forget about Kagura, YOU'RE the one who seems more savage than human, damn it. Next, you manage to add a bunch of Dadtoki scenes here and there with Kagura AND Shinpachi-ish? Come on, people like you can't possibly exist. I thought this world was supposed to be corrupted, bastard. Finally, you somehow were able to wrap it all up by connecting it to the topics from the first few chapters almost perfectly while still not rushing the ending or stretching it and keeping it all in character with little to no extreme grammar or spelling errors. Are you even human? Really, making me get all invested in this and giving me detailed image descriptions to the point that it feels as though I understand them almost personally is such an inhuman thing to do, author.

The plot gave me anxiety. 10/10. Someone call the Gorilla to make this canon.

Wow, super late to the party but this is great. Well crafted plot, healthy doses of angst...kudos to you.

First my review for the last chapter, later the one for the whole story: I loved this chapter! The way you used it and their job as a metaphor (I don't know if that's the right word) for their relationship and Gin's feelings was so well done! The ending especially got me, you really know how to tug at one's heartstrings XD.

Now my final review for the whole story: THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST GINTAMA FANFICTIONS I'VE EVER READ AND THE MOST ACCURATE AND IN CHARACTER ONE EVER! Not only is your writing skillful, it's also wonderfully flowing and poetic. I can't really pinpoint it, but I really love how you structure your sentences and choose your words. And additionally to your great writing, the content was incredible too. The plot was exciting and captivating, and so well thought through and coherent that I don't think I could point out a plot hole even if I tried. The characterizations and interactions between the characters were the closest to canon I have ever seen, AND SO MUCH FUN, and you even added depth to them in a way that would hardly be possible in anime or manga (as a medium). And last but most certainly not least, I loved those snarky/funny/dry comments (I hope you know which ones I mean XD) that you wove (seemingly) so effortlessly into your story. I really really loved every single one of them. I'll make sure to take a look at your other works, and thank you so much for sharing this awesome story with us!

A great chapter again! It's a little bit mean of me to say this considering how I know what he had to go through, but Gin's protectiveness is really cute; and absolutely understandable after what happened. You did an awesome job portraying him and Katsura in this chapter, their whole interaction felt very Gintama-like. And I really appreciate how you're wrapping up things so nicely - I have often seen fics ending right after the climax without explaining/working through things, but you even managed to tie up loose ends I never knew existed! I'm both looking forward to and feeling sad that it's the last chapter, but I'll read it with the appreciation it deserves :-).

FINALLY! FINALLYYYYY! I'm so happy Gin's nightmare is over (well, not totally, but you know what I mean)! And you wrote the reunion scene SO FREAKING WELL! I was wondering how it'd turn out, since the expectations for scenes like that are usually pretty high (I'm no exception), and it was AMAZING AND PERFECT AND EVERY OTHER ADJECTIVE THAT I DON'T REMEMBER RIGHT NOW BUT SOMEHOW MEANS AWESOME! It almost broke my heart seeing Gintoki in denial at first, not believing Shinpachi and Kagura could possibly be alive. And after that, I loved how you portrayed Gin's and Hijiata's relationship in their dialogue! They're one of my brotps, and I think you captured their begrudging understanding of each other quite perfectly. And Gin was so cute at the end, not wanting to leave Shinpachi's and Kagura's side! Btw, I underestimated the length of this chapter a little bit (XD) so I'll read the rest tomorrow, but I'm really looking forward to it!

Okay, first, I loved Yamazaki and Kondou in this chapter! Yamazaki's comments were hilarious and I think you captured the Kondou's personality really well (and you did so froman outside point of view,which I found really impressive!). Second, again I can't tell you enough how much I appreciate those little funny remarks/comments you put so easily even in the most serious of scenes. And third, FINALLY THE EVIL VOICES STOPPED!

Gaaaaah, I SHOULD stop now and go to bed, but I don't want to! It's freaking nerve racking and thrilling and enthralling and other random words my online dictionary comes up with that say that I don't want to stop and this is most definitely one of the best fanfics I've ever read, this has become clear over the course of the last 16 chapters. Btw, I love all those hidden little pearls of awesomeness in your writing, like Hijikata's voice mail or his "I'm so damn sorry" that, once again, tucked right at my heartstrings (you're an expert on that). Having calmed down a little now, I think I'll save the rest of your story for tomorrow and finish it in one go. That way I can leave actually thought-through reviews and not just sloppily written ones because I have to hurry. So, have a great day and read you tomorrow!

I think I haven't mentioned it before, but I really like your creative choice of chapter titles! It's the closest I have ever seen any Gintama fanfiction come to the original. And I love how you change perspective and let us see the opinions and thoughts the different characters have of each other! It gives the relationships a lot of depth, I think. And I really want them to stop fighting, I hope Shinpachi and Kagura get there soon!

I have to say it again, I really really love the way you write - I can't exactly specify what it is, but it's something about the way you phrase things, for example how Hijikata knows that Shinpachi and Kagura are (presumably) dead without him spelling it out, even in his thoughts. And poor Gin! I hope he realizes that they're still alive soon. So, on to the next chapter!

THEY ARE ALIVE! YESSSS! I'm so freaking happy my suspicion was right! My heart still aches for Gin, I can't even imagine how devasted he must be right now, but at least it's not broken anymore XD. And I was really impressed by how you wrote that fight, it sounded just like a real Gintama one with all that bickering while fighting and the twist at the end! Great job!

I loved Hijikata in this chapter! "All shifty and nervous and breathing" - I don't know why, but that particular part really got to me. And poor Yamazaki, he got the worst job of all of them. But I'm super curious about his attacker! And now Takasgi is entering the fray too, I wouldn't be surprised if he was the mastermind behind all of this.

Okay, this was a breather chapter - but only hardly. I like the way you use different perspectives a lot, it helps to get the bigger picture and the insights into different characters' minds are super interesting. Im kinda afraid of the next chapter though - one possibility is that Gin breaks down out of guilt the moment he sees Tae, and I don't know if my heart can take that. But we'll see tomorrow XD.
