this is seriously hands down, one of the best, if not THE best, ukitake/shunsui fic i've ever read. Your storytelling is absolutely marvelous. I keep wanting for more. I know its been years since you posted this, but thank you so much for sharing this with us.

I thought I have read all of my favorite pairing ShunUki fics out there but apparently I missed this one. And oooh how I just adore this to bits! I love the AU setting, how they met, how they progressed over the years, well, basically everything. It's such a blessing to read a well-written story that manages to evoke emotions over two fictional characters. I can feel their bond and the underlying unspoken feelings they have for each other. Bravo to the author!

This was an incredibly sweet story, and it kind of makes me ache on the inside. There's definitely a connection between Shunsui and Jyuushiro that can make just about anyone jealous, and the fact that they're forfeiting the possibility of ever marrying people society would approve of and having blood-related children makes me a bit worried and sad. That's just deep, and a part of me wishes that they had slips of romantic interactions in their earlier years, but hey, I'm not complaining about what they have right now. I'm especially glad that you ended right there with the somewhat humorous "emergency" ending, the definition of date night (lol!), and the lack of modern-day living precautions (ex: death, no kids, etc.) Err, any who, good job! I thoroughly enjoyed myself! :)

This story was truly a gem and I'm really grateful that I stumbled upon it. Though I doubt you still take the time out to read every review you've gotten, I felt obliged to write for this because it truly deserves much more accolade. I honestly believe it is so lowly reviewed because of the lack of insight the summary gives. It doesn't really provide much detail to what the actual story entails and I'm sure it would have gotten more attention if you were a bit more descriptive. Thank you for writing this. :)

Very interesting AU. Somehow, despite the setting, it's a very sweet story. Feels more like Slice of Life with a side of intrigue and romance than anything else.

In my opinion, honestly, this fanfic is the best fanfic I have read about ukitake and kyoraku as a pair. It doesn't take the relationship fast, rather it takes it slowly and a bit realistic in a sense and that's why I like it. I didn't find myself cringing inwardly at intimate parts, which usually happens, because the pacing was comfortable and easy to adapt with.

And how you write is also amazing. It wants me to read more and never leaves even a bit of detail. I can even imagine myself in the story which is amazing. Really amazing.

Freaking fantastic. Romantic without being unrealistic, an actual plot rather than wham-bam-thank you ma'am sex, interesting characterizations of Shunsui and Ukitake and fascinating backstory. Thank you for writing this little gem among all the badly written PWPs.
