Reviews for His Leftovers
Semaphora chapter 1 . 10/14/2011
I'm going to say it again, even though I've said it what must be a thousand times before: I. Love. Your. Perry. Cox.

This one had me giggling from start to finish, and I absolutely adored the flare in which it ended. Perry is such a complex character, especially in the eighth season when all he did was scream at JD. Your stories always provide a different perspective on his character, and the way he berated himself after each and every time he yelled at JD, hating himself for the things his new role forced him to do, was such a great insight into the inner workings of his crazy brain.

JD was adorable, and again I must think that he observes and takes in a lot more than people give him credit for. He must have known (through observation, because there was no way Doctor Cox was going to tell him) that Perry was cranky because of the turkey and decided to do something about it. To think he almost got a hug for it, too. The friendship between the two men, while stunted by forces outside of their control, is still as intense as ever.

This might sound odd, but another thing I really liked was the swearing. It really helped convey Perry's annoyance, and add an extra layer of meaning when he thought: "The kid had gone out and gotten him a steak, for fuck's sake." So many people use swearing as a device and utterly fail at it, but it was tastefully done (like it is whenever you use it) here.

I'm still giggling over here, okay? This was beyond adorable. Unfortunately, as an Aussie, I can't relate to Thanksgiving, but if I ever find myself in America, I'll definitely partake in it. The best thing, as a tourist, would mean that I won't have the equivallent of Jordan forbidding sex until I ate all the leftovers. Poor, poor Perry.

This didn't just make me smile, m'dear, I'm grinning. Definitely one for my favorites list.

So yes I am wayyy behind in reviewing peoples stuff and I apologize for not reviewing any of your chapters/stories earlier but between finals, the holidays and life in general, my life has been beyond hectic. So consider this my review extravaganza.

I loved this holiday story. Short and simple, but it captured a Coxian p.o.v. on Thanksgiving (a gruff one definitely!) and anything Coxian to me is super awesome. JD at the end was a great touch and I know I'm getting really particular but I love JD's single line. The hesitant tone of his voice I could totally pick up even though I was reading the words on my computer screen and I could basically hear zach braff delivering the line the same way... hahaha I know I sound nuts but that's honestly how I read it. Basically, kudos to you. Great story and now on to reviewing more of your stuff... yayyy
Tell Her This chapter 1 . 12/16/2010
Must admit, I'm not a fan of turkey myself. I hate the stuff We tend to have either duck or lamb on Christmas then the other on New Year's Day, and we're eating whatever's left from the main meals in soups and curries for weeks! I love the holidays. I, for some reason prefer Hogmanay and the first of January to Christmas. I get a lot more exicted about it. I love staying up late for the bells and watching the Hogmanay programme on BBC and seeing pictures of the street party and the fireworks. I love it. Anyway, I'm rambling on.

This was a great little oneshot. I think under normal circumstances, Perry would be beyond annoyed and JD for even trying to get lunch for him. However, when he's ODing on turkey, how can he not be grateful? Having to sit with the annoying whiny manchild is a small price to pay to be able to eat something other than Turkey. It's a win some/lose some. I think the only thing in this that would have made me laugh more would be if Perry had actually stood up and hugged JD. I understand it would have been ever so slightly out of character for him, it would still have been hilarious!

I really enjoyed this oneshot. Looking forward to the next update of My Voyage. Happy Holidays!
Moon's-Wing chapter 1 . 12/13/2010
Aww that is just adorable! So JD to notice something like that. I love the interaction between them, but finding a fic that doesnt have them fornicating is a rare thing. Thank for this gem.
astrawberryoctopus chapter 1 . 12/11/2010
Lmao so true, its very annoying to deal with so much turkey and i actually also eat turkey on new years, so its more turkey for me. Anyways, really liked it.
Bunny1 chapter 1 . 12/11/2010
Cute!
Expecting Rain chapter 1 . 12/11/2010
Awww, this was very cute! I can relate to Dr. Cox's hatred of leftovers, and it was very sweet of JD to get him steak! The last line was great!
EliH2 chapter 1 . 12/11/2010
Adorable-ness. It was all very in character. I love holiday fics. They make me so happy! This was fantastic, and something that I really think the last (real) season needed. Those two were always so aggressive, especially during the first part of that season. This just explain both characters so well. I really enjoyed it.
seilki chapter 1 . 12/11/2010
Nawww, they're so adorable! I live in Britain and we don't celebrate Thanksgiving, but I can definitely relate to the experience of too much turkey from Christmas. XD I love your holiday oneshots; they're like an extra Scrubs-related part of the festivities. :D
T-c3 chapter 1 . 12/10/2010
Haha! I love that last line. This is why I'm glad my mom gave up on turkey some years ago. I much prefer leftover ham. At least it doesn't get all dried out like turkey does. And, damn, to be having leftover turkey for weeks just sounds like cruel and unusual punishment. Really nifty idea for a holiday fic, man. :)
Replica Velocity a.k.a. X5 714 chapter 1 . 12/10/2010
Okay, that was really good and I love the whole Jordan threatening Cox into finishing the leftover's and J.d being the one to save him from death by turkey.

Great story
andaere chapter 1 . 12/10/2010
Aw. This is quite cute. :) I can definitely relate, especially because I don't even like turkey. I like that you set this oneshot in the eight season and mentioned JD and Perry's "rocky relationship". I haven't read many fics set during that time and I enjoyed the change of pace. Anyways... thanks very much for writing this, even though it is a little late! ;)
