This was so heart-wrenching. I loved Lumen soo much! I agree with you that she brought out Dexter's human side :) this was a great fic to read after watching her eps. I will forever ship Dexter/Lumen! They were meant for each other! :D

I really like Dexter's voice here. I love that you mention Harry and insert various things from the show. Well done! There are a few minor things I'd like to point out, though.

First, Lumen's eyes aren't blue. They're brown.

She wasn't dressed in black when Dexter said 'perfect', it was a dark blue shirt (I think).

Both Miguel and Lila knew what Dexter was and didn't turn away, so Lumen wasn't the only one. Dexter had to kill the other two because they didn't follow the code and went on a killing rampage themselves.

But that was all. I love the story and the paralel with a fairy tale. Hope to read more. :)

I just finished watching the fifth season. And your fic has been the greatest thing I have read. You've been very good at handle Dexter, the personifications are really like the characters. And the narrative very well run. I love the ending, I love the beginning, I love everything.

My favorite phrases were: but mostly to keep her for Themselves and The princess Does not live happily ever after with the monster.

I think the kind of love from Dexter is difficult but genuine, love the couple even if they had no fairy tale ending.

Oh, you have a really good Dexter voice! I really liked the parallel between the fairy tale and the memories. I could hear Dexter in my head narrating, which doesn't happen often in fanfic.

I also like that you didn't have Lumen come back. As much as I really liked the pairing and was disappointed when it ended, your fic seems much more realistic with your ending than with a happy fairy tale ending. The italicized parts worked wonderfully as well. They did a good job at showing the transitions in how he thought of Lumen.

All in all, great fic!

I love this! Dexter's voice is spot on and your writing sets the mood and pace of the story perfectly. You can see Dexter's character gradually evolving as his inner conflict grows and the fairytale comparison at the beginning and end keep it all tied together wonderfully. This has become one of my favorite Dexter fics.
