Great ending. Loved the surprise of the YED revealing everything to John and Dean to get their reactions then wiping their memories but leaving John with something niggling at the back of his mind. And wipe their memories he certainly did with the final part of the chapter, them thinking Sam was injured in a black dog hunt and John still wanting to ride Sam hard with training.

Great that John apologised to Sammy but he put his foot in it again straight away and had to apologise again. And poor Sammy, putting two and two together and realising what the others were wondering too.

So it was the YED who brought Sam back and he gave himself away by being on the surveillance video and altering it. Big mistake for him doing that instead of wiping it. Good that John was honest with Sammy, lying would not have been good. And loved the conversation and Dean initiated chick-flick moment between the boys.

Was wondering at the end the beginning of this chapter if YED was involved if Sam had actually died and had been brought back and Sam knowing he had died hinted he had. Intrigued as to why John's memories were kept of the accident but Dean's and others weren't as Dean has now found out the truth. Off to read next chapter which will hopefully give some answers!

Hmmm, was John dreaming or did Sam really die, must admit I am a little confused here! Happy that Sam is alive though! Off to read next chapter to find out!

Very late to the party with this fic! Dramatic and emotional first chapter, and trust Sam, despite arguing with his dad to put himself in danger saving him from being hit by the truck. I am keeping faith that you said this is not a deathfic and off to read the next chapter now!

I realy loved how you handel John from beeing a hardass to a dad back to hardass. It shows realy well how Johns actions are motivaded from.

It took me some time to read this fic, because I had my son in hospital too. So it hit a little bit to close. :-)
