This chapter is a tremendously fun collection of snippets. I definitely like the way you handled Beer Bad and Rm with a Vu; you’re right that they’re not plot-relevant enough to merit covering in full, but caveman Giles and Cordy’s attempt to steamroll Angel turning into her getting traumatized by Buffy were hugely entertaining and I’m so glad you didn’t leave them out.

I like the way you’re handling the Veruca situation so far, and am very interested in seeing how that continues to unfold. (It’s long been my theory that Oz would have been a lot more likely to stick around in a world where Buffy and Angel were still together.) I hope your muse comes back to this fic sometime soon. (Congrats on the six years later update of Season 9; I recently finished a WIP that I hadn’t updated in a full 10 years, so you’re still ahead of me, lol.)

As a sidenote, I was a huge fan of your Season 8 back when you were first writing it, and then I kind of drifted of the Buffy fandom for quite some time. A decade or so later, I’m falling back in love with the show and the fandom and B/A all over again, and have been delighted to discover you’ve written so much more fic for it in the meantime. I’m sorry I don’t have the words to leave reviews on all of them (I wish this site had a kudos feature like AO3), but I wanted to say here that I’ve been binging pretty much all of it (except for a handful that just look like a little too strong of a tissue warning for my heart to take), and I love it all.

Oh my god. Cave Giles is my favorite. I'm dying. Best thing ever!

Oh man. I came here for the latest chapter and then started thinking, "Did I review the one before this?" and then realized I maybe hadn't even READ it? EGADS NO! Funny thing is, I clearly remember that conversation, so I guess my subconscious mind tricked me into thinking I had been here already.

Anyway, yes, Cave Giles is the best thing, there can be no dispute. Honestly, the best part might have been in the AN when you noted that he's a clan chief and he's building a shelter out of books for his tribe. It just makes so much sense.

My favorite thing about "Beer Bad" was the way it resolved with a simple, "Oh, it wears off soon, so we don't have to do anything," and it's the same for this version. Leaves you feeling good about Cave Giles and not too concerned about anyone's current state. Good for Buffy and Angel not needing to drown their sorrows. :)

Huh. That doesn't prevent Oz from cheating, particularly if they lock both wolves in the same cage. Veruca won't have one.

Yay more updates! I liked the 3 parter mini story format of this. Loved the addition of Buffy to Rm w/ a Vu, and how Angel’s friends were continuously ruining their alone time. And interesting take on the introduction of Veruca! I’m glad Angel was there to point her out so Oz won’t be all sketchy about it.
Can’t wait to see where you take this!
