Wow. That was so beautiful. I am simply floored. I am not a huge fan of the Snape/Hermoine pairing, but this story was recommended to me, and I have to say it is absolutely lovely. I loved Snape's books! (reminded me of The Notebook) But I especially love the part where they are outside and he starts teaching her about the stars and she's remembering him as her teacher all those years ago. And then when he breaks off and he suddenly doesn't remember who she is...Ugh, my heart! I think this story hit me more because my grandmother now has dementia and has trouble remembering who I am, and we were so close when I was growing up. It kills me to think that all the memories we made together, now I'm going to be the only one who remembers them. Thanks so much for writing this masterpiece! It is definitely going on my favorites list!

This was heartbreakingly beautiful. I did hospice work for years, including several patients with dementia, and you've captured the pain and joy of good days and bad days perfectly

I'm crying. So sad ... I watched my step-Dad disappear into dementia and I would imagine if my Mom were still alive, this would have been her watching him fade.
