I’ve never been big on romance, but I have to tell you that this is one of my all time favorite Bones stories. It is well written, sweet, romantic, and humorous. Not an easy feat!

I just thought you should know that here, several years later, I am rewatching the show (I may have skipped most of the Hannah episodes though) and also reading all the accompanying fanfic, which I likely missed the first time around due to my completely irrational freak out after the 100th episode, when I stopped watching the show for a long time - but now that I know they get their happily ever after, I can enjoy the ride. Anyways, I very much enjoyed this tonight, it was just perfectly what I needed to go with the pre-HITH story arc. Just thought you might like to know that even after all this time people are still enjoying the things you've written. Thank you for sharing this with us.

That was really great, you took the time to build their relationship and it was sweet to follow. Bones crying over her plant was the perfect bonus

I was trolling for something great to read, and can't believe that this is the first time that I've seen this fabulous story. Enjoying it VERY MUCH.

Awesome story. I love your writing style. You capture the feelings of true love along with the playfulness of humor while making it feel real, the closeness of two people who love one another enough to be comfortable with teasing each other and knowing that they will not hurt one another by it. Your description of the lovemaking is sweet and sensuous without being smutty or dirty. In my opinion you seem to write as one who knows what it's like to be loved like that - personal experience. Keep up the good work.

September 11th is always a god awful day here in New York. We spend the day trying to remember how to breathe. I needed to find my happy place before I tried to end this day. That is exactly what his relationship with Hannah was. In Afghanistan it was fun and easy. In a way she was an effective pain killer because she allowed him to live in a fantasy. Once they hit DC it became far more difficult. He was trying to live a life that wasn't real and I think he knew that which is why he was always on edge or defensive. He never just allowed himself to be relaxed in the relationship- the moment anything came up that showed a crack in the relationship he would have to do something to make it seem more real because it never was.

The proposal was an effort to prove a love he wanted to feel- but like you said he knew it wasn't the solution. I still think he knew she would say no- but he had backed himself into a corner where if he didn't ask he would have to start asking himself all sorts of questions that he didn't want to know the answers to. Like why he hurt Brennan over a relationship that wasn't going anywhere or why he was in a relationship that wasn't heading towards marriage? As usual Booth never thinks things through- he just reacts and gets hurt- like going after Broadsky without waiting for Brennan. He needed to get burned to finally learn to think things through before acting.
