Again: MY EMOTIONS

It wasn't the fluffy bunny, huggy love-love ending I wanted, but an appropriate one all the same. Your writing really improved SO much from the first chapter to this one. The action and dramatic/sad scenes were incredible in the last "season," and I especially love how you handled Setsuka. Deepening her character beyond "corrupt, power hungry, villain of complete and utter evil" was fantastic. Tugged at my heartstrings, that did.

I'd like to think that, like the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl, your cutie pie lovebirds will meet again one day. I have to have some closure with the mostly unspoken Ritsuka/Tasuki thing. Otherwise I just can't be happy, you big ol' jerk.

I can't think of much else to say, except that since I've finished reading (read: obsessing over) your story, I can finally get back to writing my own stuff. Thanks for the beautiful distraction. 3

The Kiori/Chichiri scenes are perfect. That's all I can say about that.

You'd think Tasuki would be able to empathize a little better with Setsuka, considering he's been possessed by Tenkou (or one of his lackeys, at least) and did some pretty terrible things as a result. Then again, he's a hell of a hothead, so it could've always gone either way.

In other news, just... ugh. MY EMOTIONS

I'm so thankful to be reading this *after* you've completed and posted the entire story, because if I had to wait weeks for the next chapter, I would not be a happy camper. But you have already posted the next chapter, so I'm going to read it. It's 2:38am, but damn it, I must know!

This is hugely tacky and terrible, but I have to mention it. My husband is listening to music right beside me as I read this, and the song that started playing when Kiori went to speak to Chichiri at the palace pond was... "Chocolate Salty Balls" from South Park. It's impossible to take the scene seriously with that damn song playing in the background! I had to wait until it finished playing before I continued reading.

Anywaaaayy, the bit with Chichiri and Kiori was on point. I've been in a similar-ish situation to Kiori. Just flip the "I took monkly vows; can't do this" thing for "Yeah I like you too, but, uh... Let's not do nothin' about it, 'kay?" It SUCKED, and sort of left me wondering where the eff to go from there. So, yeah... Poor Kiori. Poor Chichiri, too, but I sympathize more with Kiori, what with never having been a monk and such. XD

Poor Tsuchi- I mean, Fuyuko-kun. I think he's my favorite of the elements, besides Tasuki of course, and I've really wanted something just halfway nice to happen to him for a long time now. NOT THAT I'M DROPPING ANY HINTS.

"My cabbages!" My husband and I literally say that all the time. We love cabbage, so we give ourselves plenty of legitimate opportunities to say it. It's usually pretty random, though, because it's fun.

Question: Is male/female dancing frowned on or just plain not allowed in traditional Chinese cultures?

I really wish that xanga were still a thing - well it is, but not *free* like it used to be - so that I could've checked out all the cool stuff on your blog. Anyway, I really liked the flashback to the poetry contest. Very well done, and it clears things up a little bit. I had suspected that Hataku and Setsuka had a bit of a thing at one point, too, but I wasn't sure and it drove me batty. So thanks for answering that question!

With the Fushigi Akugi you posted, don't feel bad. I do the same types of things. Just last night, I wrote some dialogue in my FY fic where my OC was explaining how badly her legs hurt after her first horseback ride. She and another character had to ride double, and she rode in front. Since she was over what my horse-savvy friend (I am very much NOT horse-savvy, and had to get a lot of advice from her) called the barrel of the horse for about two hours, my OC's legs got tired, crampy, and the skin of her thighs was rubbed almost completely raw. She's a former softball player, so what I started to write for her explanation was "It feels like I slid into home on the inside of my thighs." I couldn't keep that line as it was, obviously, but I laughed my ass off when I realized how sexual it sounded.

AND WHO IS GETTING PHYSICAL *quickly skips to next chapter for physical-ness*
A-hem. I'm sure the scene is absolutely integral to the story. That's why I care so much to read it. Of course. .

But, honestly, I feel like it was a teensy bit out of character for Kouji not to alert anyone to Kaze's presence. He knows how tough the Elements are. So, I'm just going to tell myself that he's faking it all so that he can get a little vacation and go home to Hareya. Yup. That's all it is. I am nodding firmly to show my conviction in this belief.

By the way... You're a jerk! Wah! But thanks for listing your sources. I may need them for my own nefarious purposes.

I read that "Love Like Fire" story and, oh my God. So weird, so awful, and so funny. "Twue wuv!"

Now, one little nitpicky thing about Tasuki's, er, "experience level." Watase-san said in a free talk section of the FushiYuu manga where she answered readers' questions that Tasuki has visited the pleasure district with Kouji before. I still kind of imagine him sitting around, staring awkwardly at the prostitutes like "Oh my God. Girls," and panicking if they touch him, then lying to Kouji about it afterward. You know, like a fisherman might say "I caught lots of fish, but I let them all go because I'm that kind of merciful guy." *wink*

You might gather from that comment that I like Fushigi Yuugi way too much and that I pay way too much attention to tiny, extraneous details like that. You would be correct.

Anyway, another nice chapter! I really love this story. I need to be working on my own FushiYuu fic, but I'm reading yours instead. XD

Wow I don't have the words to explain how in love I am with your story. Truly. It's been a long time since I've read a story that made my heart ache "in the best way possible" like yours did. I fell in love with not just your characters. But with everything you created in the story. Down to the lines. people. situations. Descriptions. and the fact you kept me guessing. If you ever think of making a sequel please let me know
