This was so bittersweet and heartvreaking to read. I appluad you on capturing the charcters perfectly and your writing was impeccable. You know youre a good writer when a fictional story about a fictional charcter in a fictional world can make a reader cry. Kudos.

Oh, man. One of the little details that I loved was that Azula’s body was found pinned with a dozen tiny knives - Mai’s work, no doubt, for taking away the one thing she cared about most.

On another note, I laughed rather inappropriately at Sokka's bit, about why he wasn't worried about Zuko: "He had begun to think that Zuko was indestructible." Mostly because I couldn't help but think about how Zuko's canonical survival would have only reinforced that. I dunno. It just struck me as funny.
