The way you described "the woman to change this" was also elegant in that you were incredibly vague with what kind of person she'd be. Leaves us as readers guessing. When I read your stories, somehow, I'm reminded of East of Eden by Steinbeck. It's very simple in concept, but beautiful in description and carries a lot of weight with each sentence.
