Rehema chapter 1 . 9/17/2011
(Laughs out loud) I can't believe it! You managed to take such a... MODERN discussion and set it against the background of 1700's England, while STILL making it believable! Ha! Oh, I cannot believe the impropriety-be they intimate friends, yet I shan't believe them capable of such discussions!

Bloody well hilarious, though. :D!

YepItsMe chapter 1 . 4/20/2011
Oh poor Charlotte... I think I'd rather be an old maid than have to put up with Collins and Lady Catherine for the rest of my life. Was Lizzy actually encouraging Charlotte into a tryst with a soldier? Or was she just telling her to enjoy the view- look but not touch?
lonestarslp chapter 1 . 4/20/2011
This is a fun story with a topic that I always find humorous. One comment-When Charlotte says that she feels like an "old maid," it confuses the story. An old maid is an older woman who has never been married, so I am not sure how Elizabeth calling her Mrs. Collins makes her feel like an "old maid." You could use the word matron (married woman) "I feel matronly enough as it is." would probably give the meaning you are looking for. I am not usually picky about word choice, but when a word confuses the meaning of the paragraph, I like to ask for clarification.

That said, I enjoyed this, and the ending is fun!
