This was really well-written, and I loved the characterization. I think you got them down perfectly. And the problem with Nowell and Piers (other than the fact that Piers is obviously with Felix, along with the child-of-friend factor)is that it has been established the the Warriors of the Vale are no longer really aging. Nowell will die long, long before Piers will. Felix will probably live longer than Piers just to prove a point
