OK, you've gotten me sufficiently curious to go check out Fallen London (I'd never heard of it before). I shall have to see what it's all about in order to fully understand the references here. Still, I'm looking forward to reading more as I'm ALSO curious as to what is happening with and to Hakuba. Love your work, as always!

I'm pretty sure I read the first chapter of this a while ago, but forgot all about it until you posted this new chapter - the temptation to check out Fallen London finally proved too much for me to resist, and I must say that I haven't regretted it.

That aside, I just wanted to say that I absolutely love what you've done in this fic, even if I do suppose that I'll have to play quite a while longer before I fully understand everything that's going on. Looking forward to your next update!

Woo! Life has conspired to give you a fic-posting break! *grins* I'm incredibly pleased to see a few new posts for your fics; I do adore the way you write. Also, Hakuba's last line was -incredibly- creepy. Yes. Even before I got to Kaito's reaction to it. ...why yes, I have spent time in Fallen London. Poor Hakuba, I do hope his Hunger is of the easily-sated, rather than always-starving, sort. Also, honestly speaking, I'm rather shocked that Akako has yet to meddle, overtly or otherwise, this time. Mayhap she's been thoroughly warned off?

And really, when I first read this, I hadn't a clue what EB was, yet you still wrote a well-written and intriguing fic- Kudos (no, not Shinichi) to you. It's got a vague yet important air, and your imagery is just inspiring. Just hints of the game to add flavor to a familiar story.

I could totally imagine Hakuba with really high 'Watchful' stats, while kaito would obviously excel in 'Shadowy'. If the girls got involved, I would say Akako would specify in 'Persuasive' with a hint of 'Dangerous', while Aoko...
well, she doesn't really quite fit with Fallen London. But she probably could take care of herself with a broom.
