This is the way the episode should have gone. I was very disappointed in Castiel's lying to the Winchesters and Bobby, but I think Dean's leaving Cas in the holy fire circle was even worse. Dean is right that Cas had taken a wrong path, but if they had just stopped accusing him and acting like he'd betrayed them they might have been able to discuss everything like adults and avoided everything that happened in seasons 7-8; Leviathan, purgatory, the whole god mess, etc…

Castiel gave up everything for the Winchesters and the least they could have done was listened to him and his reasoning behind his choice to work with Crowley. It's not like they haven't worked with demons before or since.

I was shocked by this epeisode!:O I was like whao what's going on! lolz It was soo good though I know, real sad, and yet a wee bit, disturbing to see our angel go darkside. Poor Cas though. Dean must really care for the guy, with all those hurt emotions that we saw play across his face at finding Cas out, it was torture. I couldn't believe they left him in the end though! Omg, I hope nothing too bad happens. Damn..6x21 is going to be soo epic!

I wish Dean had done this! My co-worker was laugh her ass off at me though-out the episode. Its not my fault I almost killed the pillow.

I actually wish this is what happened in the episode, because I always felt like the boys just left and abandoned Cas behind, if they had just turned around in that one moment, free Cas, maybe things would have turned out different.

This story was... perfect! it was so creatively well written, and therefore made it so enjoyable to read. You have some great talent! What I liked about it the most is that it focused on Dean and Castiel's friendship, and there was no SLASH. It's refreshing. I wish there were more stories out there like that. I also wish that this was how the scene happened in the episode. You wrote it perfectly! please write more like this!(HUGS):-)PS. I saved this story to my favorites list!
