Albus Dumbledore is not Light, he can not be Light or good.
Fawkes must be confounded, or is the creature of light Dumbles says he is.

This is good, too few fics change Albus actions.

Yeah. I've always assumed that Dumbles not getting Tom fostered or somehow into the community was the actual original problem.

It was a better example of Dumbledore-bashing, right up until the Meddling Old Bastard got a do-over. Why should he be the one to get another chance when he obviously belongs in Hell permanently.

Also the idea that if Dumbledore kissed up to Riddle, like everyone else at Hogwarts already did, then he would forgo his already proven evil and crap rainbows while pissing light, is laughably absurd.

I read a wiki page about Albus Dumbledore today.
It ignored his manipulations...

I also wrote a sketch of a story where Albus dies young.
Ariana is more closely watched and therefore lives.
Without Albus influence Gellert is not as bad.
Tom goes dark but is dealt with quickly.
His followers get no second chances.
James, Lily, and Harry live a normal life.

reminds me of the "what if Hitler got into art school?" question.

There need to be more stories like this one, where Dumbledore gets sent back to correct his mistakes. Usually it's Harry who gets sent back, and I'm perfectly okay with that, but too many of those stories are unfinished, so this was a really good change of pace.

At least Albus didn't use his experience to reinforce his belief in rehabilitation when he was sent back to 'the beginning'.

Nice story. Something so simple on the do-over prevents the whole war. Sadly can I not Dumbledore never realised this.
