Reviews for Healing
Rapper the red macaw chapter 4 . 6/1/2019
The end. For your second Rio story, this was a nice prequel between Blu and Jewel.

If you want my opinion, I think this could have benefitted within 'Blu and I' as well into one story.

Moving on, I really did like this story. As far as errors go, there were a couple minor ones, but nothing too bad as to diminish from the overall story. Excellent work on your part, keep it up, bluecatcinema.

Did Jewel almost just commit suicide? I know being flightless for a while is hard. I'm just kidding, another good chapter.

I like that you show a bit more of Tulio's personality, many stories portray zoos and animal doctors as sadists, but you showed he is a kind man and cares for the birds he treats.

Great to see Nico and Pedro have entered the picture, I always wondered how they would react to seeing Blu fly. Your explanation of it was good.
Rapper the red macaw chapter 2 . 6/1/2019
I like the fact that Blu and Jewel acknowledge their previous points, and both were equally in the right. It's always good when the audience can debate over who was right, like Ross and Rachel on a break perception from Friends.

Blu learning new flying lessons from Jewel was also a good concept. Being new to flying, it makes sense he needed help with his movement.

Similarly, Jewel beginning to warm up to humans was good, shows she too is developing further. I can't fault anything so far, it's a great story and everything flows well.

I see a lot of these after Rio stories that involve Blu and Jewel within the aviary again, but I always believe there's something different to each one.

Off the bat, I liked this chapter. Everything's finally settled, the blue macaws have realized their feelings to each other and the journey towards their new adventure can begin soon.

Like I said in my review on Blu and I: I didn't like Linda and Tulio's relationship in the movie, but their interaction at the end makes sense
MCGamemaster90 chapter 4 . 4/24/2019
I had the feeling it would end with them leaving the sanctuary, but it was a nice touch. For my final review, I honestly don’t have a lot to say. The story was nice, the character interactions were written with care and it opens a ton of possibilities for future sequels. Thank you for this, so glad there’s people like Rico to showcase good authors.
MCGamemaster90 chapter 3 . 4/24/2019
Blu’s grown into quite the character, the fact he talks to Jewel with firmness in his voice really shows here. I always love Nico and Pedro involvement; the former is my favourite character. The scene with Blu scolding Jewel for trying to fly was a bit of a surprise at first, but like I said, it’s a nice bit of growth.
MCGamemaster90 chapter 2 . 4/24/2019
See, this is why Blu and Jewel are a perfect couple. Neither of them is perfect, each have their faults and this chapter demonstrates that as they apologise to each other for their previous confrontation the night prior. I really loved that more than I should have, and I appreciate the details within that.
MCGamemaster90 chapter 1 . 4/24/2019
Nice to see the gap filled in between Rio and Rio 2, though the latter wasn’t even announced at the time, but that’s beside the point. Great start to the story, Blu and Jewel apologising for their previous argument was sweet to read. This is looking to be a good, little story so far, can’t wait to see how this plays out.
Assassin's Creed Master chapter 4 . 3/9/2019
Here we are, back with story two of your various Rio archive. Something I neglected to mention in my previous review: I have a rule when it comes to reviewing and that’s if the stories and chapters are relatively short, I usually sum it all up within a single review at the end. That’s not me saying it’s a fault on your part, by any means, that’s just me, I prefer doing long and detailed reviews and that can be hard for me to do when chapters are short. Moving on, let's review Healing.

As you may recall, criticism first and then I discuss the positives. Like the previous story, the tone is consistent with the movie's setting, the characters act how they should and it's a relaxing story to read. In my review to Blu and I, I recommend you have character name first before their response. I noticed you did do that this time around, but also stuck to your original style, so it's kind of inconsistent with which one you want to stick with. Aside from that, there's nothing more negative I can point out. Spelling and grammar wise was solid.

Let's review the story itself. Healing is another adaption many authors have done on the tale of Blu and Jewel as they recover from their adventure and await for the feisty macaw's healing. One of the many reasons I can appreciate Rio is Blu and Jewel not being perfect. The former not understanding how it means to be a bird while the latter doesn't understand companionship. You acknowledged this greatly, the two admit they were wrong and even learn to adapt to the other's style. Now that was a great concept. While short, the overall story bridged the gap after the movie's events nicely.

I enjoyed this story. I know a lot of people always try to add as many words as possible, but quality is always better than quantity and you portrayed that well. Solid work and I will continue my marathon shortly with Feliz Aniversario. Expect my review then.
Ricardo the Black Hawk chapter 4 . 8/31/2018
And so, we have reached the end of Healing. What did I think of this prequel? I enjoyed it very much, it was a nice way to bridge the gap between the ending of the first movie towards the scene where they are released into the wild (to this day, I'll never understand why they don't live in the jungle in Rio 2), but that's not the point.

I enjoyed the development of Blu and Jewel in this story and how their bond grows, great job there. As for your writing structure, I noticed that it's identical to the previous story, but not in a bad way. But for now, our blue macaws begin their new journey together. Overall, excellent work and I will continue the rest soon.
Ricardo the Black Hawk chapter 3 . 8/31/2018
And so returns the duo Nico and Pedro, love these two and nice to see you incorporated them into the story. The opening was very well done, nice to see Blu finally becoming confident enough to scold Jewel for her stubbornness goes to show how much he has grown yet still demonstrates his kindness.

The ending part, I am curious as to what got approved, must be something important. Well, onward to chapter 4 I go and reach the end of this prequel.
Ricardo the Black Hawk chapter 2 . 8/31/2018
It seems our blue macaws are settling nicely into their temporary home. I enjoyed this chapter, especially the part where they acknowledge how the other was right about flying and companionship, that little detail shows how perfect they are for each other.

Nice to see Blu getting development here, too. Love how he does his best to comfort his mate and do his best to cheer her up. I noticed he's a lot more confident with speaking now and doesn't appear as nervous as before. This little details I adore, great job.
Ricardo the Black Hawk chapter 1 . 8/31/2018
And thus, I have reached the second story of your original story line which I see is a prequel to "Blu and I". Let's get into it and see what we have to review.

First off, love the dialogue and chemistry between Blu and Jewel, nice to see them apologizing and expressing their love towards each other. Now that their previous adventure is over, it's nice to see them settling down. And now the journey begins of Jewel's recovery. And I see there's more love in the air between the humans, too. Excellent beginning, can't wait to re-read the rest.

This was very sweet!
