Well, I for one would absolutely love to read a continuation of this story and concept. All of the interactions between young Cloud and Sephiroth were just so sweet and adorable with a good dash of humor, slight mortification, and bafflement on Sephiroth's part. Just, I love Sephiroth trying to explain what lovers are and the concept of stairs and beds and all these other things everyone just takes for granted, and slowly falling in despair because he truly didn't know what he was getting into, and yet being determined that he was going to make this work no matter what. And Cloud is just so naive and innocent (and a little sad), yet also determined and kind and brave in his own way (like with releasing the horses because they were being mistreated, so awwww). In the long run, Sephiroth might have just picked the best familiar possible, because even though Cloud doesn't know about magic in an academic, by-the-books kind of way, he /knows/ and has a innate connection to it in an instinctual, unorthodox, and effortless, way, and could probably teach it to Sephiroth in a way no one else can. Seriously, I could see them both becoming insanely powerful working together, and everyone just being in shock and awe a the seemingly impossible things they could achieve as a team . I can just imagine...

A highly regarded, academically renowned Witch/Warlock : "W-wait what the hell?! What you just did is impossible! It completely defies Aleister's rule of Magical Energy Conservation and the Fith Principle of Thaumaturgy and and and...

Sephiroth: *smirks* "And your point is? Obviously it isn't impossibly if we've just done it. This just means that the known rules and laws of magic are either wrong, or incomplete." * pats Cloud on the head and smiles down at him*
"Come along now Cloud, we dont't want to be any later to meet up with Zachary then we already will be."

Cloud: looks up at Sephiroth adoringly with a huge grin, and they both walk away from the astounded crowd all still gaping form whatever miraculous, powerful feat of magic that was just demonstrated.

(I'd love to see how you'd incorporate other characters in this au, like what kind of familiar would Genesis have, and what would Zack and Reeve (a magician that specializes in making magical clockwork figures and puppets?) and the Turks be like, and Vincent (would he be another human familiar, like Cloud, or something else? Would Nanaki be a familiar?) and AVALANCHE and Hojo and...*list just keeps going and going* )

*cough,cough* Excuse me, I seem to have gotten carried away. Let's get back to the review. Ahem.

So Anyways, whether or not you decide to ever continue this (*looks at date published, and sighs*), know that I enjoyed and had fun reading this little au story. And that I've quite enjoyed reading some of your other stories too (I'm just bad about actually leaving reviews for stories, always rushing on to read the next story, and promising that at some point I'll go back and leave a review, and then forgetting, or just keep relegating it to "later".). So, for this story, and the other ones I've read, I want to say:

Wow, I wish my dreams were as interesting as Sephiroth in a top hat and overcoat. It's a cute little story and I'd really like to read more of it. Thank you for writing it in the first place; it's several shades of awesome. (Also, the Bartimaeus sequence is fantastic. It's so wonderful to see another fan of the series.)
