Castillo's use of spartan time and increased speed. Maybe a sign his augmentations are quite as inactive as we thought? I'm not sure what he'll do during the Halo Campaign, but I'm hoping he figures out how to actually use his augmentations rather than them occasionally popping up when he needs them to. He doesn't have the training or skeletal/muscular surgery of the II's or III's, but he definitely has experience on his side. I hope that after Reach, he'll be given further augmentations to make him a proper Spartan IV and maybe eventually be an officer there. I know this is a story of the life of a Marine not a Spartan, but given his relationship with ONI that's gone out the window a bit. Besides, the Spartan IVs were the first generation not to be child soldiers, but regular, if elite, soldiers given augmentations, a half way measure between soldiers and IIs that's feasible for a large force without the ethical concerns.

Agghhh can't wait until the fall of Reach. Will he work with Spartans? IIs or IIIs? Chief? NOBLE?

Just read this story over the last 2 weeks and I have to say it’s the only good thing to come out of Covid so far! Finished the story 2 hours ago and it’s put me into such a funk that I can’t get it out of my mind. But that’s the power of writing is it not? The ability to capture people’s minds, imaginations and feelings by expressing yourself through the power of the written word.

The only regret I have with your work is that I didn’t read it when you were ‘active’ on the site, to properly convoy how good your work is. Clearly you carried out a fair bit of research into both Halo, war, medicine and even the sciences, something which published authors have failEd to do at times.

Thanks for taking the considerable time to publish your work. It truly was and to this day IS, a emotional rollercoaster. One which did draw a tear on occasion, not ashamed to admit that. Irrespective of whether you return to FF or not, I hope life treats you as well as your work has us.
