it's a great story and i loved reading it so long i could divorce your katniss from the one collins created. collins' katniss didnt seem the sort to give up her life life this. realistically, she was selfish. yours moves beyond that. you have a great protagonist here. she's just not katniss.

What a great story! Yes, Collins made it too easy for Katniss, she never had to make a really hard choice until the third book and the war. And this story did Katniss justice

This was a great read. It really kept the reader guessing with plot twists at every turn. The ending was sudden though, I want to know what happened next.

What Katniss doesn't know at this point, sadly enough, is that Rue will probably suffer even more now that she's a victor (well, if the gamemakers still let there be two winners). Just with the forced prostitution and psychological trauma that comes with being a Tribute of the games makes me sure that Rue will look back and wish SHE had been the one to eat the nightlock. This fic is so unbearably sad, because no one's really a winner at all.

This is one of my favorite fics I've ever read.

The ending.

I was honestly surprised at how Katniss decided to let them both live, as opposed to trying to kill Wren. Of course its for pure selfish reasons. Wren is rather well detailed in this story. She lays out the options and knows the reality of the situation. She knows she can't win against Katniss, but at least she's realistic about the end game. The ending was perfect and I suppose the thing she's referring to what Peeta meant about dying as himself is to simply not play. Well, she's been doing that up to a point until the very end, where she's still dong it for selfish reasons, but still...its better than the game they were originally playing.
