This. This story started my love for this pairing, and helped make my love for Stephanie Brown even greater. Your way with the characters, your way with words: It all set the stage for a tragic romance. But I will admit: I prefer the happier ending over the "canon" one. And thanks to the fact comics are now rebooted constantly, there's always a chance of this happening. Of the happy moment, which can be held and remembered and still have power, years later, to make you smile.

Just good characterization, and great world building. The alternative ending works better than the official one for me, and not just cos of the happy ending, but cos J got what he deserved!

That was beautiful and tragic but beautiful. You are a great writer. This made me cry. This fan fiction is so well thought out and the plot makes sense (other fan docs really usually made up along the way with a loose plot). It is great how you worked so hard on this story. This is one of the best fan fictions I've ever read.

The first ending hurt but it felt tragically plausible, though I must say that I prefer this one (less soul crushing-have to stop reading to compose myself) In any case, the entire work is wonderful, heartbreaking at times, but so true to the characters that I ended up crying more than once. The return of Damian's soul does lead me to a few questions, as does the fact that he doesn't yet know about the baby, but I do feel incredibly reassured by that ending. You gave us all an incredible gift, I can't think of a better way to spend my day off than read this.

This entire chapter is-I don't even know the words to accurately describe it. Damian standing up for her in the restaurant and Stephanie'w own realization of who he is was stunning. It was romance, real and swoon worthy romance which was further amplified by their actions and realizations as they watched The Lion King. The insight into who they are and how they work, and how they work together was beautiful.

I honestly can't express how much I loved this fic. It was excellently done, both in plot and characterization. Damian was softer than I'm used to, but it was so well done that his emotional progress could easily be canon. Steph was still the lovable character I adore, but she had a mature edge to balance out the childishness that authors usually play on, and that was incredibly satisfying for me. I loved that there were two possible endings. Your incredible talent showed when Steph's body was found in the first ending. I felt that loss like a punch in the gut, and I am in awe of your ability to communicate that. I also really enjoyed the second ending, because it was the happy ending I was hoping for, but it wasn't completely sappy and optimistic. Both Damian and Steph struggled, and I loved that. Both endings fit the story flawlessly, and I'm conflicted about which one of them I like more.

You've done an incredible job on this story, and you should definitely give yourself a pat on the back.

Is this the end already? This can't be right. But you haven't updated for 2 years so I have to live with it. Anyways, this was an amazing story. I love it. And it's going on my favorite slits. I wish you came back to . You are obviously not on anymore. Perhaps you lost interest on these type of things.

Or you just have no more time. This story has touched me in so many ways. This story, is so precious to me, that I will write it out, cope word to word because if someone deleted it, it would jot exist anymore.

Any maybe the documents got lost on your laptop or computer and you can't find them. But luckily, I will have it written out. Safe and sound. I will jot claim the story for my own, only not to lose it.
