This story had me sleeping around 6am and effectively breaking my body clock...a characteristic of a well written story and I'm torn between begging for a little epilogue and also to just leave it as it is because the conclusion was so whole and perfect and GAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH! *Head explodes*

Brilliant story. Loved reading best lightningXNoctis out there. Although why didn't you make an alternate ending where Noctis goes to bodum? Luna could have taken over from King and as for Noctis being a paradox wouldn't 2 paradoxes in the same place cancel each other out but since not and the crystal are 1 he'd still have his abilities. Just a thought but workable maybe plus it would be funny to see lights family shocked lol. Meeting lights boyfriend would be beyond funny. Anyway just an idea. absolute beautiful story though well thought out

This was just too good a read. It left me in suspense, it left me excited, it left me amused, and I dare say at a few points it made me a little misty eyed.

I admit, when I first started reading this, I was almost turned off by how many words there were. I tend to read dialogue heavy stories, so when I saw this wasn't that, I had second thoughts. But I'm so glad I descided to push aside my silly little preference and dove right in. No regrets.

I loved every bit of this, and I'm so sad it's over, but all good things come to an end as they say. I congratulate you for sticking so long to this project and seeing it to the end!

This is truly a beautiful piece of work. I'm not actually sure why I'm leaving this comment but it's all still overwhelming in how beautiful this fic was done. Thank you for your hard work. Ugh, well, I can safely say that this story deserves and earned its top spot in Favorites in this archive. Only rarely do I feel so strongly towards a fanfic, but if anything is capable of doing it, it'd be Lightning.

It's rare I do a comprehensive by my standards review but I adore this story now too much to not do it.

All right, let's start with the basics. The grammar and formatting is functionally flawless, the dialogue and flow of the story comes so easily I'm honestly kind of envious. If I had to say one problem, one, problem that YMMV on is that the prose does sometimes get a bit flowery. I personally did not mind but it may be a problem for others.

And the setting. This is honestly kind of amazing, this is exactly what I wanted from a Versus XIII story; the characters are familiar enough that anyone from XV can know and easily identify them but different enough that it still feels like a Versus XIII story, and not a XV story. My single complaint is that Lightning feels a tad too... I don't know how to say it, but "girlish", I suppose? Perhaps it's because I've only played XIII and haven't finished her saga yet, so maybe she does develop into this. Even then her characterization is still solid and believably enough for me to let this slide.

The length is almost exactly right for a story of this scale with this much knowledge of the Fabula verse. Long enough to just feel like an epic but not long enough that I didn't feel like I had to slough through another chapter. I never felt like I had to force myself to reach for the next button, and that's an important thing I think most author's don't understand, that length does not necessarily equal quality.

This fic, however, manages to deliver both and I honestly feel spoiled now having read this. I'll constantly be comparing fics mentally to this, even outside of NoctLight fics. The quality of this story is just that high.

I should reserve my words for until I have read all of the story, but this chapter just... didn't let me.

On a third hand, what the hell is with this drama? Oh my god I cannot take it I'm about to die. Ahhhhh!

I never really liked FF 13, nor do I really like the Lightis pairing. However, this story was wonderful, enjoyable to the last word, I'm glad I gave it a chance, and that you wrote this wonderful piece. Thank you.

Wow! I stayed up from midnight to nine am reading this. It's become a favorite Lightis fic. Thank you so much for this. I'm really really really really really hoping for a sequel. A continuation of this where they all meet cause of a new paradox. Maybe caused by the existence of Lunafreya. I'm seriously begging for a sequel. Your way of crafting descriptions that convey emotion and meaning is brilliant. Not only did the imagery add to the aesthetic appeal of your prose, but it really did the characters justice, too. Lightning's tough, soldier girl attitude was spot on, and your depiction of Noctis as a conflicted prince makes me wish it was his canon FFXV personality! Even though Stella was scrapped from the game in favor of Luna, I appreciate how you gave her more depth as princess of Tenebrae and Noct's loyal friend, rather than a simple plot device to get in between Noct and Light. Prompto, Gladio, Ignis, Snow (I was so happy when he arrived!), and Regis were all great supporting characters!

What I seriously loved (aside from the twisty plot and lovely rhetoric) was how you fleshed out all the characters, and built on the relationships aside from Noct and Light (even though they were the cutest). Light/Serah/Snow/Odin and Noct/Regis/Ignis were all great dynamics to read. The parallels between Lightning's connection to Odin, and Noctis's ties to the crystal was clever, as well. I should have immediately read this after reading your oneshots, but better late than never.
