Love the story-very much in character! As a jazz pianist, I'm very familiar with both songs-I play them frequently-and Nat Cole's version is inimitable. You are very skilled at describing the badinage between L and J, with him always trying to push the limits, and with her trying to go by the book and keep him at arm's length but always succumbing to his charm. In a real-life police dept. scenario, Jane's antics would, of course, never be tolerated. He would have been unceremoniously fired long ago. Lisbon's weakness for him is obvious in that she always gives him yet another chance to behave even though she knows he won't. Keep the stories coming-I am about to continue to chapter 3...

By fay the absolute BEST Jibson story I have ever read! And that's saying something because I have an entire folder for great Mentalist stories :) Your characterization was flawless, and you had what EVERY other story didn't; a perfect balence between cliche and realistic with a not too cheesy ending :) Im going to have to make a hall of fame folder just for your story :P
