I have to ask, if this is continued are we likely to see who wins in an Angel vs. Gundam matchup? I know I would bust a gut if Gendo tried to order Shinji to give up the secrets of the Gundams. Would also be VERY interesting to see what Rei and Asuka think of Shinji if he comes back as a hotshot Gundam pilot... I can see him getting some serious makeup booty from Asuka I think, all things considered.

Okay, comments for this chapter.

1) Setsuna might well be based in part on Sousuke Sagara from 'Full Metal Panic!', but he hasn't struck me as being THAT military-minded. If anything, he's more like Gundam Wing's Heero Yuy with a variant of Sousuke's backstory.

2) Shinji is... acting a little like a Sue, honestly, in that he's doing stuff that someone else did in the actual show and getting praised as exceptional for it. More to the point, Shinji is not generally very good at strategy/tactics, being more of a "follow orders and if all else fails, keep hitting it and pray it dies before it hurts me too much" kind of person.

Also, Setsuna using the Exia's swords to blow away the clouds so that Lockon had a clear shot was just plain AWESOME, it's kind of depressing that you skipped out on doing that.

Okay, a couple of things.

First off, while Shinji COULD be made use of by Celestial Being due to not existing in the 00verse (by which I mean, he's not a citizen of any country, and no government would have any record that he was born/etc.), he would need a LOT of therapy and conditioning before they'd let him anywhere near one of their precious Gundams. Years of therapy and conditioning that could well have happened during the three-year timeskip, so I suppose I'll give you that one.

Second, I can actually believe that Shinji would, at least initially, consent to work for Celestial Being, for the reason that he literally has no other choice in order to survive. He doesn't like fighting, and he damn sure doesn't like piloting giant robots, but if he believes that he has no other options, then he'll do it in order to make sure he has food and a place to live.

Third: I'm only nine episodes into Gundam 00, but I'm reasonably sure that Sumeragi wouldn't introduce Shinji to the other Gundam Meisters until she was absolutely certain that he could be trusted/used. And even then, not all at once; instead, he'd probably be first introduced to Lockon and/or Allelujah (as they are the more sociable of the Gundam Meisters) to 'bring Shinji into the group' a little, and as his trustworthiness/loyalty increases, then he'd be allowed to meet Setsuna and Tieria.

4) Since Sumeragi basically calls the shots in Celestial Being, she of all people would be the LAST person to ask about Shinji's reasons for deploying in one unit or another. In fact, it's more likely that HE should be asking HER why about why he's deploying in a Flag instead of a Gundam, if he doesn't already understand why himself.

5) Setsuna has more training and experience than Shinji, both at Celestial Being (presumably) and generally at being a soldier. So, basically, Setsuna is supposed to still be a lot more badass than Shinji is at this point, even if Shinji has taken a few confidence upgrades.

There are a couple of spelling things that I've noticed - Gundam Dynamis being the chief example, along with Graham Aker - but far from the worst I've ever read.

Overall... this fic has got some potential. Throwing Shinji into the world of 00 and training him up to be another Gundam Meister isn't, by itself, a bad premise. Well, no worse than the usual NGE crossover premise, anyway. If I'm perfectly honest, I think you've made a few bonehead moves in this chapter, and certain things could have been executed differently/better, but if you can learn from it and get more practice/experience, I'm sure you could do something pretty great with this story later on.

On a side note, I'm curious about why Shinji didn't notice/comment on any of Sumeragi's similarities to Misato.

This is an interesting concept so far, are you going for a Shinji/Sumeragi pairing? There aren't enough of Sumeragi being with somebody!

Whoa, whoa, whoa... you said both Shinji AND his EVA got sucked into the angel; so where the heck is Unit-01? When I saw the summary for this story, I expected Celestial Being to find Shinji in Unit-01, take him in, and modify it for space-combat; not for Unit-01 to mysteriously dissapear. If you're going to pull this kind of crap, at least offer an explanation.

Corny beyond belief.

Good start but, it's a little short and you could have been a lot more focused on interaction and character development.
