This is fantastic. Original idea, great writing, spot-on characters...I loved it. I don't usually like one-shots that are so long, but this is awesome.

If Katara's the mom and Zuko's the dad, Suki and Sokka must be the eccentric aunt and uncle :)

This was a very good read; I enjoyed your characterizations and the fact that Zuko finally gets to produce lightening at the very end, where he's content.

I like this. Especially Zuko's atempts to make lightning as well as what finally gives him peace of mind to make it work.

Nicely done! It would have been great to see something like this in the series. Given Zuko's sheer level of determination, he wouldn't stop trying to make lightning after just that one episode "Bitter Work,"; he'd keep at it until he finally mastered it. And what fosters peace of mind better than finally being accepted for yourself?

But otherwise, I was very charmed by this. Great characterization, and it does credit to the series.

"What the young man lacked in skill, he compensated for with clever tactics and quick thinking." That is the perfect summary of Sokka's warrior abilities.

I noticed that Toph was only mentioned briefly, and wasn't shown interacting with Zuko at all. I'd like it better if she did, especially since she's the only one in the group who didn't have an episode about bonding with Zuko.
