Just binge-read this whole story. I'm an Envy fan and writer myself, so I always like to see different interpretations of their character. I do like how you had Envy slowly learn to trust those around them, even the one they should be most suspicious of.

However, my main criticism is that you made Envy too human. You made maybe one reference to their shapeshifting, to their power which was every bit as much of themselves as Lust's Spears or Greed's Shield, and never, once took advantage of their power. You never even touched on how much of an adjustment it must have been for Envy, to be stuck in one form. And if they had enough energy in their stone to even *have* their human form, they logically had enough energy to escape into the form of a small animal, and even living out life as a bird or rodent would probably be preferable to Envy than staying some human's prisoner.

Also, you got a bunch of details wrong, like saying Greed was made before Lust. It's the opposite actually. The homunculus order is Pride, Lust, Greed, Envy, Sloth, Gluttony, Wrath, as Arakawa revealed in an official artbook, and as listed on the FMA wiki. Also, if they used Envy's Stone to restore Alphonse's body, Ed should have still had his alchemy. And why wasn't Mustang blinded by being used as the Fifth Sacrifice? He never *should* have been able to chase Envy down in the first place!

Sorry, but ignoring important details like that, ones that only take a little Googling to get right, doesn't say much about your writing. If Tom Clancy can get details so accurate for "The Hunt for Red October" that the US Military thought he was a spy - *before* the Internet was widespread - there's no excuse for shoddy research. Especially when the answers are so easily accessible. It might "just" be fanfiction, but if anything, that makes it more important. Your readers are fans of the same series, and screwing up so many details pulls them out of the story in a very bad way. I actually nearly didn't finish reading this. Almost stopped on the first chapter, in fact.

Pay more attention to your source material in the future, and really, really think about how better to use non-human characters so that they actually come off as non-human. I recommend reading any number of great science fiction stories that examine what it means to be and not be human - any of Issac Asimov's Robot stories come to mind. Or read the very first science-fiction novel, Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein". Or even just rewatch FMA:B again.

*deep breath* That... Was amazing. Do you realize how good a writer you are? I hope so. Because you just juggled so many characters and not one of them felt OOC. And writing freaking ENVY? That takes skill, my guy, since we never really get to see his thought processes in the show. But man... I could hear their voices in my head as I read! I also really liked how you didn't dump pointless fluff all the story. Every moment that made go "aw" was necessary but brief. They weren't overdone and they felt realistic. Mustanf's flip-flopping between showing Envy begrudging mercy and then blowing up in his face was impressive. I imagine that's exactly how someone in his position would act... A human caught between compassion and hatred.

Really well done, and I thoroughly enjoyed every second of it! Thank you, and keep on writing!

I'm not sure how to feel about this. it was so emotionally charged, my eyes were glued to the screen. can someone really be broken like that? especially one so old. and also, could envy really come to care about someone who terrified him? this story was fascinating and really made me think. 10/10

Oh gosh! I've been avidly following this story and loving Envy's development and watching his relationships form with other characters. This... isn't the end, right? Please tell me that Envy lives! I really want to see how he (and everyone else) reacts to him being on his last life.
