I subscribe to a complete story if I like it so I can reread it again

About your mini rant ... I have done this before when I want to read a new story but don't have time right at the moment. If I don't put it in my alerts, I'll probably forget about it, because I won't remember the title. Once I read the story, I remove it from alerts (unless I forget) and add it to my favorites, if I like it enough.

Good storyline for Hermione. As you can probably tell, I enjoy stories in which Hermione gets her comeuppance. Far too often, she is portrayed as the perfect, brilliant witch who saves Harry, the clueless dolt. I don't like those stories. I accepted some, at first, but they do get tiresome. I'm not a big Ginny fan, either. Sometimes, however, when Ginny is written better than JK wrote her (yes, it does occasionally happen), I find Ginny tolerable.

Andi seems to have a pretty good fix on Hermione. I'm curious to see what happens.

Hermione and S.P.E.W. Ugh! It looks as if she is going to need a few more lessons on House-elves! It will be interesting to see if she is called out on any of the things she studied during the summer. I kind of get the idea she might not have done so well on the elf part of things.

The level of disbelief Hermione showed at finding Luna was a prefect was rather unflattering. I wonder if any adults will talk to her about her attitudes toward others ... or will that duty fall to Harry? Speaking of Harry, he is quite loaded down this year. Quidditch Captain, prefect, mentor ... I wonder what else is coming!

Some people use the Subscription Lists as a Log Book as it is easier to navigate than other Tracking Features. So, they are saying that they enjoyed your completed story. Some Readers may be indicating that your story could have a sequel, could benefit from a different denouement, could be developed & rewritten for a more balanced Plot Curve, or maybe your story stands out as one that could have a spin-off variation (from a different POV). These are just a few of the many possible explanations...
You may be thinking that FAVORITE is the preferred tracking method but some Readers obviously don’t agree. Ignore the discrepancy.

I for example, read a lot of stories. Because these isn't a "not liked" option, I save stories I don't like to Favorites. I save stories I liked to Followed.

Just turn off the notifications you receive about follows and favorites. Sometimes people do that to keep tabs.

Wait what ? That's it ? And no one has any problem with what she did ? I'm sorry but I find this unbelievable. Like McGonagall said what Hermione did warrant expulsion at best, Azkaban at worst. The way you had her suddenly (and conveniently for your plot) realize she have been wrong especially with such weak excuses make the whole thing feel fake and make Harry and his friends look stupid, I mean really ? "Sorry I didn't knew a choking and slicing spell could be dangerous" and they believed that ? Yeah right...
How can they trust her so easily ? What she did was borderline criminal ! You can't have that disappear like nothing happened ! Frankly Hermione feels more like someone who had been caught and is lying through her teeth to not get in more trouble than someone who genuinely regret her acts. I simply don't believe in your ending, it's too much of an artificial "happy" ending coming out of nowhere.

Mild Rant Reply: If we read it in the app or just so engrossed that we didn't check the status of the story, we would usually follow and favorite the story. If we are binge-ing then we would know to unfollow, if not we would just forget. Honestly most people don't even check on the status. Cause doing so is mostly disappointing and stops the reader from staring a story. In the app you can even choose not to seee the status and length of the work.

A good sequel, thanks for the story!

Underclassmen? Not a term I'm familiar with. Any advice would be appreciated.

Maybe people reading the story on different devices want it easier to find it again
