So all of the Brotherhood members, including Gaara, believe that Naruto wants to destroy the book. However, what Naruto really wants is to destroy the book AND himself. If I've understood correctly. I thought Gaara knew the whole plan, but I can't believe that he'd support Naruto killing himself, so maybe not?

The stuff with the Shugosha was a bit confusing, but if I understood that correctly, it was like Naruto's feelings about his bond with Sasuke finally reached Sasuke (metaphorically speaking), so Sasuke is feeling all the things Naruto once felt towards him. It's like their roles have reversed with Naruto the emotionless one driven by his goals to the point where he's going to give up his life in pursuit of them, while Sasuke is the emotional one and rushing off to stop him.

Since Sasuke has the Shugosha inside of him and that's a part that originally belonged to Naruto, will Sasuke be able to give it back to Naruto? It's his after all.

I'm both surprised and not surprised that the next chapter is the last one of the fic. I think for the plot, it makes sense to end it in the next chapter. I'm not sure about the character development though. Between Sasuke and Naruto, I think Sasuke has made a full character arc, but I'm not sure about Naruto. Compared to the beginning of the fic, Sasuke has finally learned the importance of bonds. In comparison, I don't think Naruto is even close to making similar epiphanies.

Overall, I feel Naruto has been a more static character than Sasuke. On the one hand, I can see how Naruto's feelings for Sasuke got deeply buried, but may still exist. After all, he calls his little group the BROTHERHOOD. Even if he claims he's not thinking about Sasuke or their bond anymore, on some level, he still is.

On the other hand, I think Naruto managed to get to Sasuke in a way that Sasuke never managed to get to Naruto. As Sasuke realized, he failed with Naruto. He never gained a spot on Naruto's totem pole, if you will. Even if Naruto and Sasuke's experiences traveling together didn't completely open Sasuke's eyes, I think spending time with the Shugosha and then feeling the repercussions of its death are what finally made Sasuke change a lot.

However, Naruto never had those kinds of parallel experiences. He never got a chance to spend time with "his" Sasuke after Sasuke's group left. And unlike Sasuke, he never got a chance to remember why having that bond was good. That's why I'm not sure it'll be so easy to make him remember their bond in a short amount of time. I think as far as their bond goes, Naruto got less character development than Sasuke.

And there's another problem, namely that regaining the bond is a bigger inconvenience for Naruto than it was for Sasuke. Sasuke just didn't want the bond, but Naruto was forced to pick between it and Konoha. That problem doesn't just go away now that Sasuke has changed his mind. Naruto is also pretty stubborn about his goals and he's spent a long time plotting to kill himself. He's not a character who changes his mind easily. That's why I don't know if all those problems can be overcome in just one more chapter?

Haven't read this. Just noticed while blocking romance stories between Naruto and Sasuke (looking for a friendship fic) that this isn't under romance. If this is a romance fic, then you might want to re-categorize this under romance.

That argument and sasuke describing how they were and are "always dancing"... their relationship in a nutshell. Great work on that, I mean it.

Who could this favorite brother be? I thought of Gaara...but he's a kage soooo...and Sai is still obligated to Konoha...hmmm
