I remember reading this in 2015 right after binging the series on YouTube. I grew up with this show and saw it as a kid as I always wanted to live in a big city by myself and to fall in love and all that jazz. Either way I felt super distraught as the series got cancelled and googled all over the internet, then I found this fanfiction. It is sooo wellwritten and really true to the character I actually genuinally believe that this is how this show ended. The images that has shown up in the back of my mind is as if I've seen this happen. Thank you for this; you are a true talent and I feel completley satisfied.

Thank you so much for writing a virtual season five. CBS just didn't do Caroline justice in the end, which I think left the faithful fans in an empty spot. You mentioned in your author's note you'd be writing a sequel...where can I find that? :)

Hi charming 2492, I too am a huge fan of Caroline in the city. The characters, the story line, etc. This show hit a chord inside me from the first. At the end, after everything I wondered why Richard did not ask Caroline to go to Italy with him to meet his son and develop a relationship with him. At that time he didn't know what kind of father/parent he could or would be. He grew into it and at the end he realizes that he really loves being a father. I wanted so badly for her to go with him; if they truly loved each other. I know when they parted at the airport, that was so difficult to see. The two of them professing their love for each other. I would have asked her for sure. Give us 6 months to see how it develops. If it's not meant to be you can come back home. But at least give our relationship this little bit of time, together. As I said, I am a huge fan of Caroline in the city and will continue to be. Again, thanks for these stories. P.S. I recently came across a web site that sold dvd's. They had the entire Caroline in the city complete series- seasons 1-4 region free! Yes I said region free. Thank you so much for writing this, after Caroline ended I've been rewatching the shows from time to time, always loving it to pieces and then feeling hopeless with the ending, you truly are a true fan, you nailed the whole Caroline in the City feeling and described every character perfectly! I love Richard and Caroline, but also loved Richard and Annie's banter and Del and Annie... I know it's been years since you wrote this... but do you think maybe one day you'll make that sequel?
