This is probably the best fan-fiction I’ve ever read. The personalities of Asuka and Shinji, projected three years into future (what alteration to the canon timeline happened to precipitate the author’s continuity is left quite vague, which actually aided the story) were spot on - they both felt like natural progressions of the characters we love. Ona more technical note, the writing style is very readable - and even downright enjoyable. There aren’t much grammatical or spelling errors, and when they do show up, they’re usually forgivable or obviously the product of the author writing in a flow-state without the benefit of a proof-reader.

While most fanfics typically include the added baggage of past ‘action’ set pieces like, say, continued angel attacks - and therefore the characters still largely stuck in their canon selves as Eva pilots, this one is a true and very natural evolution of the storyline. Focusing on the personal relationship of Asuka and Shinji instead of cheap thrills makes this work irresistible. By the end, you’re left wanting for more (in other words : PLEASE MAKE A SEQUEL).

Without giving away any spoilers, let’s just say that what happens throughout the story up to the satisfying ending is what you’d expect from the two characters. The author has a prodigious talent at portraying believable and engrossing relationships. Much thanks for this work of art.

I have to say, this is the best Asuka x Shinji fanfic that I've read. And its the only fanfic ever that I've read from start to finish multiple times. A job too well done. You're freakin great. Thanks for making this.

"My father would sent me gifts every year"

This seems ridiculously unlikely. I've been having a pretty easy time suspending my disbelief enough to enjoy this story (it's really sweet), but the idea of Gendo sending Shinji Christmas gifts seems way too far out of character. It pulled me out of the moment pretty strongly.

This story is brillant :) I absolutely loved it.

A few grammar mistakes here and there. A few awkward sentences (if I remember correctly, there was one from Misato in the chapter where they went to buy that promise ring).
One thing I can say for sure is that I lost track of everything else while reading this. I may not speak in everyone's place, but as a certain individual who aims for perfection, I can say that this was very pleasant to read.

Great story.

I liked the build up to their confessions. Good job on keeping Asuka more civil towards Shinji but keeping her stubborn personality traits intact. Also, good job on Shinji being more bold and confident.

Hope you make a sequel in regards to them reuniting with Rei, perhaps Shinji and his father, who knows.
